VALORANT removes Tejo temporarily following triple missile exploit
Riot Games has temporarily removed one of VALORANT’s newer Initiators, Tejo, from the active agent pool after a game-breaking bug surfaced, giving players access to unintended utility.
The Colombian agent has been completely disabled from the game, to the point where he no longer appears in the Agents menu. The issue stems from Tejo’s Guided Salvo ability, which is supposed to fire two missiles targeting selected locations.
However, a recently discovered exploit allowed players to launch three missiles instead of two, significantly increasing Tejo’s map control and damage potential beyond intended limits.
How the Bug Worked
Originally reported by X user @billyvlr, the exploit itself was relatively simple to execute. All players had to do was:
- Select the first Guided Salvo location
- Move far enough so the initial target point exits the targeting map
- Move back into range
- Select the remaining two locations normally
If performed correctly, Tejo would fire three missiles instead of two, covering an extra area and providing a clear competitive advantage. In a tactical shooter like VALORANT, where utility balance is critical, this kind of bug can heavily impact round outcomes.
Community Reaction and Prior Issues
Clips of the bug quickly spread across social media platforms like X and Reddit, with players showcasing the exploit in both ranked and custom matches. As visibility grew, pressure mounted on Riot to take action.
This is not the first time Tejo has been at the center of controversy. Back in 2025, a bug involving his Stealth Drone allowed players to boost teammates, mimicking run-boost mechanics seen in CS:GO and CS2. While that exploit was disruptive, it was not as game-breaking and created a few hilarious moments at best. Riot opted for a quick fix without disabling the agent entirely.
Severity Prompts Full Removal
This time, Riot’s decision to fully remove Tejo indicates the severity of the issue. Similar measures have been taken in the past with agents like Omen, who once had a bug revealing enemy locations, and Reyna, whose Devour ability failed to overheal properly. Both cases involved temporary removals until fixes were deployed.
With VCT Stage 1 regional leagues just around the corner, Riot faces a tight timeline. VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 - China Stage 1 and VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 - EMEA Stage 1 are set to kick off first, leaving the developers with less than a week to resolve the issue and restore competitive integrity. Given Riot’s track record, a fix is likely imminent, but until then, Tejo remains sidelined.
