All VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 - Pacific Stage 2 Playoffs teams have now been decided and will battle not only for the regional title but also for a spot at VALORANT Champions 2026 in Shanghai, China.

Before they can dream of going to the biggest international event of the year, however, they must first fight their way through the double-elimination bracket, with the final weekend set to take place at the Sajik Arena in Dongrae-gu, Busan.

VCT Pacific Stage 2 Playoffs teams

Eight teams will compete in the playoffs, but only the top four will earn the honor of packing their bags for the roadshow in Busan. The qualifying teams are:

    • Gen.G Esports
    • VARREL
    • Paper Rex
    • Global Esports
    • KIWOOM DRX
    • Nongshim RedForce
    • ONSIDE GAMING
    • T1

Unlike the teams in the Upper Bracket, ONSIDE GAMING and T1 have absolutely no room for error. Because they secured their playoff spots through the lower side of the Play-In Stage, they will begin their playoff run in Lower Bracket Round 1. A single loss in their opening match will result in immediate elimination from the tournament.

    Opening Matchups

    Paper Rex vs Nongshim RedForce

This opening clash features reigning VCT Pacific Stage 1 Champions, Paper Rex, taking on Nongshim RedForce. This marks the third time these rivals face off this season. Nongshim claimed glory in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 - Masters Santiago 2026 grand finals, while Paper Rex retaliated with a dominant victory in the opening matchup of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 - Pacific Stage 1 group stage.

Paper Rex enters the playoffs with massive momentum after demolishing DRX 2-0, showcasing their trademark agent flexibility with Ilia "something" Petrov on Neon and Sage, and Wang "Jinggg" Jing Jie on Raze and Harbor. Their unpredictable composition pool will highly test Nongshim, especially on the returning map, Abyss.

Meanwhile, Nongshim is executing a flawless resurgence after sweeping both DaddyDe11 and T1 2-0 in the Play-Ins. If Santiago MVP Lee "Dambi" Hyuk-kyu can replicate his explosive performance alongside veteran Goo "Rb" Sang-Min's stable Harbor play, Nongshim could easily pull off an opening-day upset.

    Global Esports vs KIWOOM DRX

The second opening matchup pits Group Alpha's runner-up, Global Esports, against KIWOOM DRX.

Global Esports has been VCT Pacific Stage 2's absolute breakout sensation, dominating July with clean 2-0 sweeps over FULL SENSE, Rex Regum Qeon, and ZETA DIVISION. Even with their recent coaching changes, GE have managed to build upon their Stage 1 third-place pedigree, boasting exceptional tactical discipline and consistency.

Conversely, KIWOOM DRX successfully salvaged a highly turbulent and volatile season. After finishing dead last in Group Omega with a dismal 1-4 record, DRX displayed heroic grit during the Play-Ins. They swept ONSIDE GAMING and secured gruelling 2-1 wins over ZETA DIVISION and Sharper Esport. With the IGL reigns back in the hands of veteran Kim "MaKo" Myeong-kwan, DRX’s deep championship pedigree and sudden hard-earned momentum mean they can never be underestimated on the big regional playoff stage.

Finals: Who Makes it to Busan?

Based on the current bracket, Group Alpha's undefeated giants Gen.G Esports and Group Omega's surprise top seed VARREL are waiting comfortably in the Upper Bracket Semifinals. Because they earned direct byes, they only need a single victory to secure a top-4 finish and punch their tickets to the Sajik Arena in Busan.

Gen.G Esports looks incredibly dominant. Powered by the immense firepower of Kim "Raxcal" Min-seok and Ha "Ash" Hyun-cheol, Gen.G is widely favored to lock in their Busan spot from the Upper Bracket Semifinals.

The second spot will likely be claimed by the winner of Paper Rex vs Nongshim RedForce. If Paper Rex maintains their fierce firepower, they are highly favored to march straight to Busan. However, Nongshim RedForce’s flawless play-in run shows they have the tactical depth to compete.

T1 has relied on cohesive team play and veteran poise to sweep DetonatioN FocusMe 2-0 in the Play-Ins. Historically, T1 has excelled in high-pressure lower-bracket gauntlets, and their extensive, battle-tested experience makes them incredibly dangerous when backed into a corner with their tournament lives on the line.

The lower bracket is a brutal gauntlet of direct elimination matches. As an honorable mention, ONSIDE GAMING, the lone Challengers dark horse, starts here after bouncing back in the play ins behind Oh "Ray" Eun-hyuk's explosive plays. They face Upper Round 1 losers, fighting for survival with absolutely no room for error.

Overall, the four teams that look most likely to qualify for the VCT Pacific Finals Busan are Gen.G Esports, Paper Rex, Nongshim RedForce, and T1.

    VCT 2026: Championship Points

Championship Points are more critical than ever as Champions 2026 is draws closer each passing day. At the end of VCT Pacific Stage 2, the top two teams from the playoffs qualify directly for VALORANT Champions Shanghai. They will be joined by the next two eligible teams on the Championship Points leaderboard who have not qualified through the playoffs.

While Paper Rex has already locked in their ticket to VALORANT Champions Shanghai via Championship Points, the second point-based spot is still up for grabs. Below is the Championship Points standing of the remaining playoff contenders heading into the bracket:

    PosTeamChampionship Points
    1Paper Rex25
    2Nongshim RedForce14
    3T113
    4Global Esports9
    5Gen.G Esports6

Note: ONSIDE Gaming cannot qualify for Champions 2026 via VCT Pacific Points since they are a Challengers team, and not a VCT Pacific team.

The battle begins tomorrow on August 26. Follow the live coverage on YouTube, Twitch, KICK, and SOOP to see who will represent VCT Pacific on the global stage.
