ZETA DIVISION has unveiled its revamped roster for the upcoming VCT season. The organization made significant changes to its lineup, aiming to reclaim its former glory in the competitive VALORANT scene.

ZETA signing with yuran, hiroronn and Carlão

The latest additions to the team include Yushin "yuran" Hato and Hiroki "hiroronn" Yanai, both of whom were part of the ZETA DIVISION Academy roster since 2022. While hiroronn was scouted by FENNEL, a prominent team in VCT Japan Challengers 2023, yuran is a rookie with limited professional experience, having only faced a 0-2 defeat against DRX in 2022.

ZETA DIVISION's most important move in this renewal is undoubtedly the signing of former FURIA head coach Carlos "Carlão" Mohn, an esteemed figure in the esports community. Carlão played a significant role in FURIA's success in VCT Brazil Challengers, earning two Champions appearances during his tenure. Despite FURIA's mixed results in 2023, Carlao's expertise and strategic insight are expected to bring a fresh perspective to ZETA DIVISION.

The team's journey began back in 2020 when they started under the Absolute JUPITER banner, featuring players Ushida "Laz" Koji and Maruoka "crow" Tomoaki. Despite their early efforts, ZETA DIVISION faced challenges, especially during the Masters: Berlin tournament in 2021, where they were eliminated in the group stage without securing any victories. In a bid to turn their fortunes around, the team rebranded as ZETA and made roster changes, including the addition of players like Shota "SugarZ3ro" Watanabe, Yuma "Dep" Hashimoto, and Tenta "TENNN" Asai. This new lineup showed promise, securing a remarkable third-place finish at Masters: Reykjavik. However, their performance declined over time, leading to disappointing results in subsequent tournaments such as Masters: Copenhagen and Champions 2022.

In 2023, ZETA DIVISION struggled to maintain their momentum, participating in only two international events, LOCK//IN and Champions 2023, both of which ended in winless campaigns. Despite their efforts in the playoffs, they narrowly missed qualification for Masters: Tokyo. The team's lackluster performance prompted them to make strategic changes, marking their first significant roster adjustments since 2021.

The revamped ZETA DIVISION roster, featuring Laz, yuran, hiroronn, Dep, SugarZ3ro, and guided by head coach Carlão, is set to make their debut at the prestigious Red Bull Home Ground 4, commencing on November 3. For this event, academy players Caedye and yatsuka will temporarily stands-in for Dep, showcasing the team's adaptability and determination to excel in the competitive gaming arena.
