Best SO-14 loadout for Warzone & MW3
O or a zero – we may never know! But what we do know is that with its strong mid-range damage and blink-and-miss-it TTK, the SO-14 is capable of climbing way higher in the Warzone gun meta than it is.
Released alongside the launch of MW2, the fully- and semi-auto hybrid SO-14 is a bad-boy battle rifle and a solid A-tier weapon in Warzone already, no doubt. But with a beast-mode loadout and solid class setup, we’ll have you dropping in with an absolute meta-dominating monster of an SO-14 build in no time.
Y’all ready for this?
How do you unlock the SO-14?
Reach level 12 with the EBR-14 and you’ll unlock the M14-inspired SO-14 for your Warzone armory. The EBR-14 is a starting gun, so it shouldn’t take you too long!
It’s either that, or extract from the DMZ mode with the SO-14 in your inventory.

Attachments
With its boost to hip fire accuracy, damage range, bullet velocity, and recoil control, you’d have to be barmy not to start your SO-14 build with the 22” Boremaster. It’s the biggest no-brainer of every attachment for this battle rifle.
The SO-14 has a fairly shoddy recoil control as is, but we can easily counter this with attachments like the ZLR Talon 5 and FTAC Ripper 56, which each crank the stability up so much you’ll swear the SO is a whole new gun altogether. Plus, the ZLR gives you a drool-worthy boost to damage range and bullet velocity, and throws in sound suppression too, for the ultimate cherry on top.
We wouldn’t drop in without an optic like the Aim OP-V4, but if you’re happy going without it, chuck in something like the 7.62 High Velocity bullets to give the SO-14 an extra boost to its damage.
You could always drop the 50 Round Drum for the 7.62 bullets, but for our money, the extra ammo is worth more than the extra damage.
Perks and equipment
Overkill is as essential a perk as ever with this SO-14 loadout, and we’d suggest a solid SMG like the Lachmann Sub to back up your new-and-improved battle rifle. You’ll want a perk like Fast Hands too, so you can quickly swap out to the SMG whenever you need to unleash close-range death – a must, given the SO’s slow ADS.
Double Time and Ghost go a long way towards making you as deadly as possible with the SO-14, and the same goes for our choice of Flash ‘nades and Drill Charges for your equipment, but these are all largely personal preferences. Go with a perk class that suits you best.
FAQs
What is the SO-14 weapon in Warzone?
The SO-14 in Warzone is a battle rifle known for its high-damage output and flexibility. It can fire in semi-auto mode for accurate long-range shots or switch to full-auto for close-to-mid-range pressure, giving it versatility that many rifles don’t offer.
Is the SO-14 good in Warzone?
The SO-14 is good in Warzone as long as you play to its strengths. It excels at precision, holding power positions, and landing high-damage shots. Players who enjoy controlled, accurate gunfights will benefit most from it. However, it’s less forgiving for hyper-aggressive running and gunning unless tuned heavily for recoil and handling.
When built correctly, it can down enemies quickly and even surprise players who underestimate its close-range potential.
What's the fastest killing gun in Warzone?
As for the fastest-killing gun in Warzone, there isn’t one single weapon that always dominates because the answer depends on distance, attachments, and seasonal balance changes. However, the guns that typically kill the fastest are high-rate-of-fire SMGs or fast-firing ARs optimized for close-quarters combat. Weapons such as the FJX Horus, RAM-9, AMR9, and the Fennec 45 often achieve extremely low time-to-kill values, especially inside buildings or tight spaces. If your goal is pure close-range shredding power, these weapons generally outperform slower, heavier rifles.
