Best Victus XMR loadout for Warzone & MW3
It’s a solid B-Tier in Modern Warfare 3, and a mighty A-Tier gun in the Warzone meta. Yes, folks, we’re here today for the vicious one shot death machine: the Victus XMR sniper.
The Victus has been an absolute beast since arriving in Season 1 of MW2 back in November 2022, and for good reason. It’s been praised for making your feel “unstoppable”. In the hands of a skilled sharpshooter, it activates instant vengeful god mode. It’s the go-to sniper rifle for pulling off jaw-dropping shots…
Of course, all that’s only possible with a top-notch loadout. And that’s what we’re here to deliver. Presenting: the only Victus XMR build you need to dominate the competition in Warzone.
How do you unlock the Victus XMR sniper?
To get the Victus XMR in your armory, you’ll need to get 15 headshot kills with sniper rifles. That, or extract from DMZ with the weapon in tow.
Players used to have a harder time unlocking the Victus in Warzone, to the tune of unlocking Sector A7 of the Season 1 battle pass, then earning 15 Battle Tokens to get the Victus – Sector A7’s High Value Target.

First up, the .50 Cal Explosive ammo is an absolute must if you want to build your Victus XMR to have the kind of one shot killing power that feels like blasting enemies with Zeus’ lightning bolts. Yes, it reduces your bullet velocity… but it’s totally worth it to gain one shot kills.
It’s worth noting though that any enemy rocking the Bomb Squad perk will be immune to your one-shot kills.
When it comes to barrel, the Mack 8 will help rebalance the bullet velocity you’re losing from those explosive one-shot killing rounds.
The XRK Rise 50 stock will crank your mobility up nicely, and the Bruen rear grip is a must for further boosting that mobility and ADS speed.
Optics are always down to personal preference more than anything, but we feel the SP-X is your best bet for a strong Victus XMR loadout since it gives you two types of magnification (6.6x and 11.0x zoom).
If you’re comfy with the Victus’ standard scope and its 8.0x zoom, consider dropping the scope in favor of a laser like the VLK LZR 7MW.
Note: This build is best for the Victus XMR in Warzone. If you’re taking this sniper into battle in MW3, it’ll need tweaking slightly (but not much!).
Perks and equipment
There’s always an element of personal preference when selecting your perks for any Warzone loadout, but these are our top choices for a solid Victus XMR build.
With Overkill, we’d opt for an assault rifle or SMG as a second primary gun. With Double Time and Fast Hands, it’s all about cranking up your speed where it counts so you can maximize your headshot potential.
Meanwhile, Bird’s Eye is invaluable for strategy and scouting out your next headshot. And as for your throwables, Semtex and Flash Grenades go with a Victus build like ham and cheese.
FAQs
Is the Victus XMR good in Warzone?
Yes, the Victus XMR is one of the best long-range snipers in Warzone. It hits extremely hard, offers excellent bullet velocity, and can eliminate enemies with a single well-placed headshot. The rifle is perfect for players who prefer holding long sightlines or supporting their squad from a distance. While it’s powerful, its slower ADS speed and handling make it less forgiving in close fights, meaning it rewards precision and positioning over reaction speed.
Can the Victus XMR one-shot?
Yes, the Victus XMR can one-shot enemies with headshots, even at long ranges, when equipped with the right attachments.
What is the best sniper to Quickscope with in MW3?
The Longbow is currently the best sniper for quickscoping in MW3 thanks to its lightning-fast aim-down-sight (ADS) speed and smooth handling. It allows players to snap onto targets quickly and chain shots efficiently. Other strong options include the XRK Stalker and KAR98k, both offering fast bolt cycles and solid mobility. To optimize quickscoping, use attachments that boost ADS speed, sprint-to-fire time, and stability while minimizing weight penalties.
What is the best sniper map in MW3?
The best sniper maps in MW3 are those with wide sightlines and elevated positions. Maps like Wasteland and Highrise are favorites due to their long corridors, open lanes, and clear visibility for sniping. These maps allow players to maintain distance, control major choke points, and take advantage of the rifle’s range. For players practicing quickscoping, smaller maps with open mid-lanes, such as Rust or Scrapyard, also work well for fast engagements.
How to snipe fast?
To snipe quickly and effectively, choose a lightweight sniper rifle with high ADS speed and good handling. Equip attachments that boost ADS time, sprint-to-fire speed, and movement control. Always pre-aim common sightlines and avoid overexposing yourself when peeking. Use short strafes and crouch transitions to stay unpredictable. For quickscoping, practice the rhythm of sprinting, snapping into ADS, and firing in one fluid motion. Mastering this timing will make your shots feel faster and more consistent, allowing you to outpace slower snipers in head-to-head duels.
