Pantheon is one of the more interesting champions in League of Legends, and with his rework, he become a lot more fun to play. Whilst he doesn’t have the complex kit that most newer champions have, Pantheon is a very effective early game carry… if you know how to play him.
What’s that? You don’t know how to play Pantheon? Well don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. In this guide, we cover everything you need to know about Pantheon, including his abilities, lore and even some cool facts you’ll appreciate when you pick him up.
Pantheon’s abilities in League of Legends
Passive: Mortal Will

Pantheon natural generates a stack of Mortal Will whenever hit hits a basic attack or casts an ability. This stacks up to 5 times, and when Pantheon reaches 5 stacks, his next ability he uses will consume them, become empowered with bonuses effects.
Q: Comet Spear

This is the bread and butter of Pantheon’s kit. He charges his spear up as a skillshot in whatever direction he chooses for up to 4 seconds, but he can launch it whenever he wants. This slows Pantheon for 10% whilst channeling.
When throwing the spear, it does up to 190 AD, as well as 115% of Pantheon’s bonus AD to the first enemy it hits, with 50% damage going through onto secondary enemies hit.
It also deals increased damage to enemies below 20% of their maximum HP, which is essentially an execute.
Pantheon can instead tap his Q ability to thrust his spear forward, dealing the same amount of damage, but instead refunding 60% of the cooldown of Comet Spear.
It is worth noting, whilst you are sacrificing range for instant damage, the fall-off for hitting multiple enemies does not exist when you tap Q.
With Mortal Will at max stacks, Comet Spear additionally deals up to 240 bonus physical damage, as well as 115% of Pantheon’s bonus AD.
W: Shield Vault

Pantheon leaps onto a target, with the point-and-click ability, which stuns enemies for 1 second. This also does between 60 and 220 physical damage, which scales with 100% of his AP.
When empowered with Mortal Will, Pantheon has his next auto attack within 4 seconds strike the enemy he stuns 3 times in quick succession, dealing between 40% and 55% of his AD as physical damage per hit. Each hit can also be a critical strike too.
This is also an auto attack reset, so you can easily stack up your Mortal Will quickly again too.
E: Aegis Assault

Pantheon uses his shield in whatever direction he chooses for 1.5 seconds, which makes him invulnerable to any damage that isn’t from a turret for the duration, but only from the direction he is shielding from.
During this, he also strikes forward with his spear in a cone, dealing 8.3% of his AD as physical damage every 0.125s. This is a lot of math, but it does up to 100% of his AD as physical damage over the 1.5 seconds.
This can also not be interrupted by any crowd control and at the end of his E, Pantheon slams his shield forward, dealing up to 255 physical damage, as well as 150% of his bonus AD to anyone in a cone in front of him.
With the Mortal Will enhancement, Aegis Assault grants Pantheon 60% bonus movement speed for 1.5 seconds, which allows him to chase targets after locking them down.
R: Grand Starfall

Pantheon passively gains armor penetration when he levels up this ability, up to a bonus of 30% at max rank.
The active of Grand Starfall has Pantheon channel for 2 seconds after targeting somewhere on the Rift, leaping into the air, and essentially disappearing, and casting for an additional 2.2 seconds.
During this, Pantheon throws his spear to the target location, dealing up to 190 physical damage, as well as 115% of his bonus AD, as well as slowing enemies by 50% for 2 seconds.
For the rest of the duration, Pantheon lands down, causing a huge shockwave which does up to 700 magic damage, increased by 100% of his AP, dealing 50% damage to enemies hit by the edge of the shockwave.
Pantheon then lands with the shockwave, with a fully stacked passive Mortal Will bar.
When was Pantheon released in League of Legends?

Pantheon has been in League of Legends almost since the very start, and was introduced in Patch 1.0.0.72, which was released on February 2nd, 2010.
He was released alongside Myrmidon Pantheon, but he became the Pantheon we know and love today in Patch 9.16, when he received a full rework.
Where is Pantheon from in League of Legends?

Pantheon is actually the celestial power within the host, who is known as Atreus. Whilst Pantheon is from Targon Prime in ancient times, Atreus is from the Rakkor Caves in Mount Targon, which is in Targon.
Pantheon’s Age in League of Legends

Pantheon’s host, Atreus was born between 925 AN and 935 AN, which makes him approximately 62 to 72 years of age.
An old man on the rift, but he can still hold is own in whatever lane you pick him in!
Pantheon’s Voice Actor in League of Legends

Pantheon is voiced by George Georgiou after the rework, and before the rework, Pantheon was voiced by a man named Gavin Hammon. He also voiced Varus and Blood Lord Vladimir too.
Did Pantheon lose to Aatrox?
In the story, Pantheon fought Aatrox in a major battle. Aatrox won that fight by stabbing Pantheon in the chest. This blow destroyed the god-like power inside Pantheon and removed the star representing him from the sky.
But the story did not end there. The human inside Pantheon, named Atreus, did not die. He got back up, even though his body was badly hurt. He chose to keep fighting, not as a god, but as a man. His will to protect others gave him strength again. Later, Atreus took on the role of Pantheon once more, this time powered by his own spirit, not by a god.
Is Pantheon Greek or Roman in LoL?
Pantheon in League of Legends comes from Greek mythology. His armor and weapons look like those used by ancient Greek soldiers. He wears a round shield and a helmet like a Greek warrior, also called a hoplite.
His name, Atreus, comes from Greek myths too. Atreus was a king in old Greek stories. The word “Pantheon” also comes from Greek and means “all gods.” Riot used these ideas to shape his look and background. While some parts may feel Roman, Pantheon’s full design and story are clearly based on Greek culture.
