GODSENT is a known esports organization especially among the fans of CS:GO. Founded by a former FNATIC player, Markus "pronax" Wallsten, GODSENT was home for many famous CS:GO players from Sweden such as Robin “flusha” Rönnquist, Jesper “JW” Wecksell and more. Many people were wondering if and when the famous organization will decide to enter the waters of another promising FPS game, VALORANT. GODSENT not only took on board a team during the closed beta phase but decided to sign a full female squad which makes GODSENT the first organization on the scene to do so.

“We are very honored that this opportunity came about, the team consists of a good mix of former Apex Legends and CS:GO players with the right balance and mentality to invest the time and effort needed for making it in the long run. GODSENT are strong believers of a growing female esports and gaming scene and it was a very easy decision to make this signing,” tells THESPIKE.GG Henrik “Heinrich” Denebrandt, CEO of GODSENT.

As mentioned earlier by Denebrandt, the squad is a mixture of girls who aren’t newcomers when it comes to competitive gaming. The core of the squad is Hosana “TinyLady” Kmiecik, who is also the captain of the team, Julia “Juju” Steffen and Nicole “nCL” Hanser. These girls were competing as a team in Apex Legends for over a year. As team DREAMIT they traveled to Poland for the first global tournament, Apex Legends Preseason Invitational. All of these three were also playing individually in the female CS:GO cups hosted by ESL, and took part in the ESWC Female Qualifiers. Juju was also a part of organizations such as PENTA Esports, Escape Gaming, and nerdRage and will be the in-game leader of the VALORANT team.

“Since the release of VALORANT and the passion we felt playing the game, we decided to welcome new additions to the team. But before getting so passionate and heavily involved with VALORANT each player had been playing either semi-competitive or at the high rank for 15 years individually,” comments Hosana “TinyLady” Kmiecik.

The remaining two players that are the newest additions to the squad are Alicia “alikea” Boina who was always active on the CS:GO scene and has multiple achievements under her belt, such as getting the second place with her team during the APHOBIA Gaming Female Cup. alikea competed under different organizations and teams including dizLown. The last member who is rounding up the roster is Lilly “Katti” Lucas who was also competing in Apex Legends, as well as PUBG and League of Legends. Katti was mostly an MMO player, but she was always focused on the competitive aspect of the games. She was playing Quake, and moved into Counter-Strike upon the release of the newest version of the game, CS:GO.

“Our expectations are big for the game. It’s still very early but from what we have seen so far - and the rest of the world - it will most likely become one of the bigger esports titles for many years to come. Also having Riot Games behind the game is a great assurance and also be a part of making the female scene big for this title,” continues Denebrandt.

Seeing the first female squad is for sure an interesting situation that we will closely observe. The question is if more organizations will decide to popularize the female esports scene in VALORANT and in general. As we were told by Henrik “Heinrich” Denebrandt, GODSENT will “probably sign one or two more female rosters in other titles during 2020”.

We can’t wait to see how GODSENT will perform on the VALORANT scene and we are curious to see how many more of the female gamers will want to pursue their careers in the newest Riot Games’ title as in the future we might see a similar situation as in CS:GO and League of Legends where the female players have a separated esports scene with competitive events on the line.

GODSENT roster is formed by:

Brazil Hosana “TinyLady” Kmiecik Germany Julia “Juju” Steffen Morocco Lilly “Katti” Lucas France Alicia “alikea” Boina Germany Nicole “nCL” Hanser
