FURIA leave Tier 1 VALORANT after missing out on 2027 partnership
Following its exclusion from the eight partner teams selected for the VCT 2027–2028 season, FURIA has announced its departure from the Tier 1 VALORANT circuit. All players and coaching staff will become free agents on November 2, when the transfer market opens.
FURIA leaves VALORANT
After four years as a partnered team in the Americas region, the Brazilian organization will no longer compete in the Tier 1 circuit heading into the 2027 season after failing to secure a new partnership contract.
Until 2026, FURIA had never won a regional title, finally claiming its first at VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 - Americas Kickoff. However, their first international appearance since 2023 fell short of expectations, as the team failed to advance past the first round of the Playoffs.
With the transfer market set to open and the offseason officially underway, FURIA has confirmed it will no longer compete in the mixed VALORANT scene. Starting November 2, all players and coaching staff will become free agents, allowing them to explore other opportunities ahead of the next competitive season.
As for its recently announced Game Changers roster, FURIA is expected to share further details in the coming weeks.
The English translation of FURIA's statement can be found below.
After taking the time to reflect on the competitive landscape and what's next for FURIA, we've made the decision to step away from the mixed VALORANT competitive scene in 2027. VALORANT has been our home. It's where we invested in talent, built something special, and created memories we'll carry with us forever. Through the wins, the losses, and everything we learned along the way, you were always there with us.
To every player, coach, staff member, and partner who has been part of this journey: thank you. Each of you has played a part in our story. All of our players and coaching staff will become free agents on November 2, and we wish them nothing but the best in whatever comes next. To our fans who cheered us on, stood by us, and believed in us every step of the way: we can't thank you enough.
This isn't goodbye. We'll continue to follow the scene closely, and the door will always be open. As for our future in the inclusive VALORANT scene, we'll have more to share with you soon. Thank you, VALORANT. Thank you to our fans. See you around.
Following Evil Geniuses' departure from esports, FURIA becomes the latest Americas team to leave the circuit after failing to secure a partnership spot. With the 2027 partner teams now announced, several organizations across different regions are facing a similar situation.
