Hours after Giants Gaming revealed their new roster, another EMEA team followed suit. This time, however, it was a British esports organization by the name Guild Esports to do so.

Despite their absence from all international events in VCT 2021, they had several fascinating and unexpected performances. They qualified for VCT 2021 - Stage 1 - Europe Masters and managed to finish 3rd amongst the best EMEA teams at the time. In Stage 2, they made the Challengers Playoffs after a 2nd place in VCT 2021 - Stage 2 - Europe - Challengers 1 and would’ve made it to Masters Reykjavik if it wasn’t for Oxygen Esports taking the close win against them.

Stage 3 bore a similar fate for the team as they qualified once again for the Challengers Playoffs by placing 3rd in VCT 2021 - Stage 3 - Europe - Challengers 1 but encountered defeat in the main event itself preventing their entry into VCT 2021 - Stage 3 - Masters Berlin - Playoffs. Their circuit points in VCT earned them a spot in VCT 2021 - EMEA Last Chance Qualifier as they were amongst the top 10 teams in the scene. They were able to defeat the likes of G2 Esports and FUT Esports and make the event’s Grand Finals, only a few steps away from VCT 2021 - VALORANT Champions 2021. However, Team Liquid were the better team and Guild Esports finished 2nd. Following their loss, they released William "draken" Sundin, Malkolm "bonkar" Rench, Yacine "Yacine" Laghmari from the roster in efforts to revamp it for the upcoming VCT season.

Today’s announcement states that there will be three new players joining their roster. First and foremost being the Spanish player Jose Luis "koldamenta" Aranguren, who was previously a member of G2 Esports. To say that koldamenta has had an eventful year would be an understatement especially given the chance to play with World Champions Acend and 3rd-4th place of VCT 2021 - Stage 3 - Masters Berlin - Group Stage in the same year. He started his year with Raise Your Edge Gaming roster, which was later signed by Acend.

The team won VCT 2021 - Stage 1 - Europe Masters, Stage 1 Masters in EMEA region. In his time with G2 esports, he participated in Stage 3 of VCT, where they managed to qualify for Masters Berlin, which witnessed the true potential of the roster as the team finished 3rd amongst 16 of the best teams from around the world. In VCT 2021 - Stage 3 - Masters Berlin - Playoffs it was Guild Esports that took out G2 Esports preventing them from qualifying for the Champions.

Another player joining the team is Nikita "trexx" Cherednichenko with a relatively less exciting tournament history. He struggled to find a stable organization and spent almost five months as an inactive player under Team Singularity’s contract. The only major tournament he had the fortune to be a part of was VCT 2021 - Stage 2 - CIS - Challengers 2 where his team CrowCrowd placed 3rd-4th. His time at OG Esports was futile as the roster couldn’t qualify for any Challenger event in Stage 3 of VCT.

Finally, Russel "Russ" Mendes will also be joining the roster. He participated in the first two stages of the VCT under the banner of Tarren Mill, which was acquired by TENSTAR in May 2021. After the move to TENSTAR, the team witnessed an improvement in their tournament performances in regional tournaments, such as the 1st place finish in VALORANT UK & I - Main Event. They also managed to qualify for the Challengers this time around and placed 4th in VCT 2021 - Stage 3 - Europe - Challengers 2 just missing the chance to play in the Challenger Playoffs. After the Stage 3 of VCT, the team participated in several LVP Rising series tournaments (https://www.thespike.gg/series/lvp-rising-series/5) and even made LVP - Rising Series - Finale. The last event where Russ was a part of the roster was Red Bull Home Ground - #2 - Main Event, where they placed 4th behind Giants Gaming.

With this announcement, Guild Esports roster is as follows:

Sweden Saif "Sayf" Jibraeel Sweden Leo "Leo" Jannesson Spain Jose Luis "koldamenta" Aranguren Russian Federation Nikita "trexx" Cherednichenko United Kingdom Russel "Russ" Mendes

Sweden André "BARBARR" Möller (Coach)
