During the Red Bull Home Ground event, one of the Riot Games developers said in an interview that the upcoming map will be similar to one of the maps that are currently in the pool right now and it will have a new mechanic.

2023 will bring VALORANT some new updates including a map change. It was known for a while now that Split will make its return to the map pool, while Breeze and Bind will be removed. As there is one map making its return and two bidding farewells, Riot Games gave signals of a new map and it will be revealed soon. However, we did have a few teases and one more was added to the list yesterday.

During Red Bull Home Ground, one of the most important off-season tournaments, an interview took place with one of the Riot Games developers, and right now it is one of the hottest topics on Reddit.

“It’s going to have a new mechanic. It’s not too crazy, but there will be a new mechanic. It’s going to be similar to another map in the pool.” said, the developer.

Lots of different ideas and guesses are being tossed around but we still don’t have any official announcement. The new map will be live in 2023 but Riot Games will probably announce it before its release. What do you think the mechanic will be? Let us know in the comments!
