The Oceanic region is due for an Ignition Series tournament to give the opportunity for its competitive VALORANT players to shine. The Rise of Valour tournament offers an impressive $70,000 AUD prize pool, kicking off on August 8th, 2020 and crowning its champion on September 6th, 2020. This means we are getting almost a month long of non-stop VALORANT action from OCE teams to prove their dominance over the region. It marks the second Ignition Series tournament for Oceanic VALORANT players, as we already saw the ORDER Oceanic VALORANT Open with a $10,000 USD prize pool.

The event gives the opportunity for anyone and everyone to join. There will be a total of 6 Open Qualifiers for teams to try and qualify, and every day, the top 2 teams secure their spot in the Play-In stage. All these matches will follow a single elimination and best-of-1 format, meaning there is little to no room for error. These 12 teams will be joined by the top 4 from the ORDER Oceanic Valorant Open to complete the 16 Play-In competitors, which will kick off on August 29th, 2020.

All matches in this stage will follow the same single elimination and best-of-1 format from the qualifiers. However, only the Finals qualifier will adopt a best-of-3 to give the spot to those who deserve it. Once we have the top 2 finalists, we move on to the Last Chance qualifier. The Rise of Valour tournament will give the 12 teams who didn’t make it another shot at redemption, in addition to calling the top 4 point scoring teams from the Open Qualifiers held at the very beginning. It follows the exact aforementioned format in order to give us the top 4 finalists moving on to the Finals Weekend airing on September 5th, 2020 and September 6th, 2020.

The 4 finalist teams will play off in a Double Elimination Bracket, with the 2 Play-In finalists starting in the Upper Bracket and the 2 Last Chance finalists in the Lower Bracket. On September 6th, 2020, the Grand Finalists will face off in a best-of-5, with the Upper Bracket finalists starting with a 1 map advantage. All the Rise of Valour - Finals matches will be livestreamed on Fortress Melbourne’s Twitch channel, and considering they are all best-of-3 series, we are bound for some nail biters.
