We have seen multiple First Strike announcements during the past few weeks, each dedicated to a separate region, including North America, Europe, the CIS, and many more. Now it is time for VALORANT teams in the Middle East and North Africa region to get their chance to show the world what they have.

Riot Games MENA has today announced the launch of its inaugural VALORANT Strike Arabia tournament, as part of the studio’s series of global First Strike competitions. The tournament will take place between November 1st and 25th, 2020, consisting of three simultaneous tournaments across three different Arab sub-regions. Fans will get to enjoy VALORANT action from Sunday to Wednesday every week during that period, with all the matches streamed on VALORANT Arabia’s Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch channels.

These are the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), North Africa, and Levant with Egypt. Nations from the GCC allowed to participate are the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman. As for North Africa, Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria will get the chance to compete. Finally, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Egypt are considered part of the Levant and Egypt tournament. Each with its own $10,000 prize pool.

Every top three teams out of each sub-region will qualify for the First Strike MENA tournament between December 3rd-6th, 2020, to compete in a double-elimination bracket to crown a victorious squad. This is contrary to the 8-team single elimination format we are seeing in every other region.

“We are delighted to launch our first VALORANT tournament in the MENA region. Staging Strike Arabia will provide that opportunity for VALORANT players to put their skills to the test and be recognised on the competitive stage while also battling it out to reach the First Strike MENA competition.”

“Riot Games has big plans to develop VALORANT into one of the biggest competitive games in the world and this first edition of the tournament will serve as the launchpad for the esports scene in 2021,” stated Luciano Rahal, PR & Communications Manager at Riot Games MENA.

Registration is already open, and runs through till 12 PM UAE time on October 31st, 2020. Keep an eye out on THESPIKE.GG for the latest news on MENA organizations announcing their rosters leading up to the tournament. Which region do you think will surprise us the most with their playstyle?
