Cloud9 unveils its VALORANT roster for the 2027 season
Despite not being selected as a partner team, Cloud9 remains committed to VALORANT, continuing its long-standing presence in esports. For the VCT 2027 season, Cloud9 will compete as one of the invited teams in the Americas region for the Kickoff qualifier stage, bringing several interesting additions to its revamped roster.
The new faces of Cloud9 VALORANT
The new Cloud9 VALORANT lineup was built around Cameron "FireBallOps" Tomaselli, the only player retained from the 2026 squad. Competing in North America, the team was limited to two import slots, adding some restrictions to its roster-building options. Despite this, Cloud9 managed to bring in several talented young players who have recently started making a name for themselves in Tier 1.
The Cloud9 VALORANT roster for 2027 is:
- Cameron "FireBallOps" Tomaselli
- Torogul "alym" Baidyldaev
- Conner "GLYPH" Garcia
- Derrek "Derrek" Ha
- Christian "nightz" Smith
Meet Cloud9's 2027 roster
Coming from ENVY, both GLYPH and nightz had limited opportunities to prove themselves last year, as they joined the team midway through the season. However, nightz had already shown his potential during his time with Cubert Academy, where his performances began attracting attention.
GLYPH, meanwhile, made an impression during his stint with Gentle Mates, accompanying the organization's international debut. His performances highlighted an exciting prospect who is now getting more opportunities to establish himself in Tier 1.
Despite having considerable experience, Derrek struggled to find a team for the 2026 season, eventually returning to Tier 2. However, his results with QoR did not quite meet expectations, leaving some questions about what he can bring to the Tier 1 level. Still, he has the potential to become one of the biggest surprises of Cloud9's new lineup.
Finally, alym joins Cloud9 after winning a regional title in the VCT 2026 and making his international debut. However, despite securing a title for FURIA, the team struggled to maintain that momentum throughout the rest of the season. With no Neon nerfs on the horizon, alym will have the opportunity to bring his signature playstyle to Cloud9 and continue showcasing his strengths on the agent.
Fans will be eager to see how the new lineup performs, especially after Cloud9's struggles to find consistent results over the past few years. Could this revamped roster mark the beginning of a new era for the organization?
