The next event in the Riot Games’ Ignition Series, the T1 x Nerd Street Gamers Showdown in North America, kicks off on Friday, June 26th, 2020. This tournament boasts a $50,000 USD prize pool, one of the largest we’ve seen yet for VALORANT competitions. Today, we’re excited to share all of the teams that will be competing in this landmark event.

The tournament is the best-attended we’ve seen yet in North America. Nearly every tier 1 organization with a signed roster will be competing, and this will be our best chance ever to see how they stack up. T1 and TSM are the favourites heading in, but each of these teams can compete. Sentinels, in particular, will have a chip on their shoulder, with the poor outings they’ve had so far with their roster. We will see the debut of 100 Thieves’ new lineup, as well as FaZe Clan’s entry into VALORANT. The only player on the roster representing them that has been officially signed to the organization is Corey “corey” Nigra, but the teammates flanking him have all been linked with large organizations as well, so the whole lineup is worth keeping an eye on. It’s also worth noting that Cloud9 will be playing with Jake “Poach” Brumleve for this tournament, instead of Gage “Infinite” Green or Daniel “vice” Kim.

Being the best-attended tournament so far extends into amateur teams too. Together we are terrific, widely considered the best amateur team remaining unsigned in North America, will be competing, as well as other notable teams, such as Code7, Echo 8, and Mixup. Whether any of these teams can throw a wrench in the plans of a bigger organization remains to be seen.

The final notable entry is Team Ninja, led by the popular streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. With Ninja being in the news lately due to the collapse of his former streaming platform, Mixer, this may be his return stream on Twitch, and would bring with it massive viewership for the tournament.

The T1 x Nerd Street Gamers Showdown promises to be possibly the greatest VALORANT event so far. Be sure to tune in on twitch.tv/t1esports at 5PM EDT tomorrow, and stay tuned to THESPIKE.GG as we’ll be bringing you live match scores and coverage of the event!
