Paper Rex’s success in VCT 2022 - APAC Challengers 2 has brought them to Copenhagen. The Singaporean team will start competing from the playoffs stage and here is their journey to Denmark!

VCT 2022: Malaysia & Singapore Stage 2 Main Event

As the format states, Paper Rex had to finish the regional tournament in the first three to qualify for APAC Challengers. They won all their games in the Group Stage, losing only one map against BLEED Esports, on Icebox. PRX finished the Group Stage undefeated, at the top of the standings. The playoffs started easy for them as they secured two easy wins against No Namers, 13-44 on Fracture and 13-1 on Bind. Surprisingly, they lost to LaZe in the second round of the playoffs and continued their way from the Lower Bracket. They swept Bleed eSports in the Lower Bracket Final to face LaZe once again in the Grand Final to take revenge. This time, Paper Rex did not make the same mistake and swept their opponents easily to win the VCT 2022 - Malaysia & Singapore - Stage 2 - Main Event trophy. They destroyed Laze, especially in the second game of the series with a score of 13-2 on Haven. Fracture ended 13-7 and finally, Ascent ended 13-9 in favor of Paper Rex.

APAC Challengers

After securing the VCT 2022 - Malaysia & Singapore - Stage 2 - Main Event trophy, Paper Rex reached the “big league” to qualify for VCT 2022 - Stage 2 - Masters Copenhagen. According to the tournament format, they had to reach the Grand Final in order to qualify for Copenhagen. The journey started from the Group Stage as they took down BOOM Esports and ORDER, respectively to reach the playoffs. Both series ended in a sweep and PRX made it clear that they were one of the strongest teams before the playoffs madness started. Paper Rex faced [team=] in the first round of the playoffs, the Upper Bracket Quarter Final. After a very close series, PRX advanced to the upper round. The Singaporean team won Bind with a score of 13-10, lost the second game on Fracture, 14-12, and finally closed out the series after a 13-7 win on Icebox. Secondly, they faced Bleed eSports once again and picked up another 2-1 win to reach the Upper Bracket Final. One of the most popular teams in the region, Team Secret, tried to compete with PRX but they failed. Jason "f0rsakeN" Susanto and his friends swept their opponents, 13-7 on Ascent and 13-2 on Bind, and reached the Grand Finals. After that point, they booked their ticket to Denmark but the Grand Final was still important for Masters as they were going to start from the playoffs if they lifted the trophy. Paper Rex dominated the Grand Final game and swept XERXIA to lift the trophy.
