BBL Esports and FUT Esports set record for longest game in VCT history
Fans who tuned into BBL Esports's series vs. FUT Esports probably didn't expect to be watching almost two hours of hard-fought VALORANT gameplay, but after the dust settled, only one team stood tall at the end of the longest match in VCT history. BBL and FUT went back and forth against one another, and after 48 rounds, BBL was able to squeak out the victory off the back of a 42 kill performance from Burak "LêwN" Alkan.
Pressure make diamonds... and winners
The young 18-year-old star also showed off nerves of steel in the final round of the map, as he stuck a defuse with only 20 health while hiding in a smoke. FUT's Eray "yetujey" Budak was still alive, and opted not to spam through the smoke, and instead jumped into it, giving LêwN enough time to hold the defuse and win the map. It was a wild ending to one of the most seesaw-like matches we've seen all year.
Meanwhile, Doğan "xeus" Gözgen, who has been one of the best performing players in VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - EMEA Stage 1 this year, ended the map with only 22 kills and a whopping 41 deaths. Considering his track record, it was a surprising performance from the talented 20-year-old, but in the following match, he and the rest of FUT were bested in regulation.
In the second map, once again, LêwN had the highest ACS of any player on his team, and had a 37 percent headshot percentage. He was the tip of the spear for BBL as he had 10 first bloods throughout the game, and continuously found picks to open up an avenue of attack.
With this result, BBL has propelled themselves into first place in Group Omega with four wins and only one loss. If Team Liquid ends up losing their match vs. Karmine Corp on April 25, BBL will have secured themselves first place in the group, and a very important bye into the Upper Bracket Semifinals.
