BBL Esports bids farewell to MAGNUM
Martin "MAGNUM" Penkov will not be part of BBL Esports’s 2026 roster, as the organization announced that they’ve amicably decided to part ways. Two months ago, the Flex player posted on X that he was looking for a team while still in negotiations with BBL. Now, the organization bids farewell and thanks MAGNUM for his contributions to the team.
A key part of BBL’s success in Stage 2
Back in September, MAGNUM made his LFT post shortly after BBL’s heartbreaking exit from VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - EMEA Stage 2. The team looked strong in playoffs, taking down both Fnatic and Team Heretics. After beating two of EMEA’s biggest powerhouses, BBL seemed to have found new energy going into the tournament. In-game leader Elias "Jamppi" Olkkonen gave a lot of credit for the team’s success to MAGNUM, who joined the squad in March 2025 and brought fresh energy to the roster.
However, BBL fell short in the Lower Final against GIANTX, missing out on a spot at VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Valorant Champions. Following the end of the 2025 season, BBL decided to make roster changes heading into the new year. For now, MAGNUM is the only player confirmed to be leaving the team.
New team on the horizon?
In his search for a new team, MAGNUM made it clear that he’s highly flexible and capable of picking up any role a new team might need. With a wide agent pool and a willingness to move regions if necessary, he’s an appealing option for many teams looking to fill gaps in their lineup.
Now that BBL and MAGNUM have officially parted ways, we might see him join a new roster soon. Having previously represented several prestigious EMEA teams including Fnatic, KOI, and Karmine Corp, MAGNUM brings valuable experience to any lineup. With the offseason still in full swing and many teams yet to finalize their rosters, a move for MAGNUM could be on the horizon.
