Ben Affleck's unexpected entry into VALORANT: A look at his gaming interests and impact
Ben Affleck is known around the world for playing Batman and starring in big movies like Argo and Gone Girl. But recently, fans were surprised to find out that he’s also a fan of VALORANT.
His interest in gaming came as a surprise—but it’s very real, and it’s been fun for fans to see him getting involved.
Does Ben Affleck play VALORANT?
Yes, Ben Affleck does play VALORANT. Ben Affleck’s journey into VALORANT started with his son. Like many kids, his son loves the game and its competitive scene. To bond with him, Affleck decided to try it out—and he got hooked.
He was seen at VALORANT Champions 2023, a major tournament, watching the games live. During the event, he talked to fans and even met the voice actors behind the game’s characters. In one fun moment, he joked with Shannon Williams, the voice of Jett, saying, “Yeah, but then they nerfed Jett,” showing he knew the recent updates and changes to the game.
Who he plays and how he plays
Affleck said during the event that he doesn’t stick to just one agent in VALORANT. He admitted, “I’m a little promiscuous with who I main,” meaning he switches between different agents depending on the situation.
Still, he mentioned he enjoys playing KAY/O and Raze. These characters are known for their strong, aggressive playstyles. That matches Affleck’s style—he seems to enjoy playing in a fast and active way. Earlier, he also said he liked playing Brimstone and using the powerful Odin weapon, especially while playing with his son.
On a 2025 stream with well-known VALORANT personality Tarik, Affleck even helped celebrate Sentinels’ victory by lifting their trophy. On that same stream, he revealed that his starting rank was Iron 3, and that he hasn’t been able to play as much lately due to work.
He also owns some VALORANT skins, including the Sentinels bundle, which shows he’s not just playing—he’s a fan. It’s rare to see major Hollywood stars get deeply involved in video games—not just as guests, but as real players. That’s why Ben Affleck’s love for VALORANT has caught so much attention.
Could he work with Riot Games?
There’s even some talk online about whether Riot Games, the company behind VALORANT, could one day work with Ben Affleck on a movie or show. Riot has already made Arcane, a hit animated show based on League of Legends, another game they created.
If Riot ever makes a VALORANT show or film, Affleck’s love for the game and his movie experience could make him a great fit. Fans would definitely be excited to see that happen. That’s all for today! Check out our other VALORANT guides for tips, tricks, and all the latest updates:
