BeYN re-signs with DRX until 2027

Kang "BeYN" Ha-bin has officially extended his contract with KIWOOM DRX until 2027. An instrumental part of the organization's success for the past two years, the support player is here to stay and grow with the roster for the next two years.

High highs and low lows during the VCT 2025 season

BeYN played a pivotal role in DRX's impressive revival at the end of 2024, qualifying the organization to their only event of the season, VCT 2024 - Champions 2024 on home turf, and placing at a notable 5th-6th. Making a name for himself as the "vibes guy" of the team, with some even dubbing him as the "Korean Zellsis", the rookie who has spent his entire career on DRX Academy was ready to carry DRX's success forward into 2025.

The team seemed to carry such success early, winning VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Pacific Kickoff and qualifying to VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Bangkok 2025, but narrowly missed out on playoffs in the first Masters event of the year. The middle of the year was especially rough for BeYN, who was benched for Park "Estrella" Gun right before the playoffs of VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Pacific Stage 1, and looked like he was to remain on the bench for the rest of the season.

It wasn't until Estrella was unexpectedly unable to travel to VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Valorant Champions that BeYN got the call up once again. As the fourth-seed from Pacific with a last minute roster change, DRX had low expectations at the biggest tournament of the year, but BeYN in particular took this chance to prove himself again and ran with it.

Making it out of a group of current world champions NRG, then-reigning world champions EDward Gaming, and EMEA first seed Team Liquid was impressive enough, but eliminating tournament favorites like G2 Esports and Paper Rex to achieve a top 3 finish was an incredible feat for DRX and the organization's last-minute hero BeYN.

Looking into next year, BeYN is the first resigning of the Korean organization, but the Champions roster remains intact for now. Only time will tell whether DRX choose to run it back with this impressive group of players and coaches, yet they seem to have decided that BeYN will continue delivering for the organization for the next two years.
