With the VALORANT Challengers League North America: Split 2 underway, Riot Games has announced the roadmap for the upcoming VALORANT Challengers League NA 2024. The Challengers League is essentially a pathway to the VCT Ascension League, which will eventually land one team a spot in the VCT Americas League.

The 2023 Challengers League North America: Split 2 already has the top 12 teams in NA, but moving toward the 2024 Challengers League North America, only the top eight teams will secure their spot. These top eight teams will be determined based on the total circuit points they earn from Split 1, Mid-Season Face Off, and Split 2 over the course of the 2023 Challengers League North America.

The remaining four teams will have a chance to secure the last two spots by competing in the Play-In Relegation Tournament, which will be held on June 4 and June 5, 2023; these four teams will be randomly seeded. Every match will be a best-of-three (bo3), and the Play-In Relegation Tournament will follow the 4-team GSL-style double-elimination bracket.

The top two teams will secure their spot in the 2024 Challengers League NA, and the remaining two teams will be relegated. Fortunately, two new slots will be made available in which the teams can participate through the open qualifiers, the same as the 2023 Challengers League NA had, and the relegated team will be allowed to participate where they can redeem themselves with the spot back.

Play-In Relegation Tournament Schedule and Challengers NA Current Circuit Points

Here is the complete schedule for the Play-In Relegation Tournament:

    Day 1: (June 4)

    • 1:00 PM PST GSL Round 1
    • 3:30 PM PST GSL Upper Decider (Winner qualifies)

    Day 2: (June 5)

    • 1:00 PM PST Lower Round 1 (Elimination Match)
    • 3:30 PM PST Lower Decider (Elimination Match + Qualifying match)

Here are the current standing according to the circuit points in the 2023 Challengers NA.

    1. M80: 49 Circuit Points
    2. The Guard 47 Circuit Points
    3. Moist Moguls: 34 Circuit Points
    4. Oxygen Esports: 29 Circuit Points
    5. TSM: 27 Circuit Points
    6. G2 Esports: 23 Circuit Points
    7. Turtle Troop: 14 Circuit Points
    8. FaZe Clan: 14 Circuit Points
    9. Shopify Rebellion 14 Circuit Points
    10. Orange Rock: 14 Circuit Points
    11. Disguised: 12 Circuit Points
    12. MAD Lions: 3 Circuit Points

Looking at the current standing Shopify Rebellion, Orange Rock, Disguised, and MAD Lions need to secure as many points as possible to secure their 2024 Challengers League NA spot. Though Turtle Troop, FaZe Clan, Shopify Rebellion, and Orange Rock have the same points, it is too early to determine who will secure their spot.
