    Cloud9 parts ways with neT

Cloud9 has officially announced that they have parted ways with Michael "neT" Bernet ahead of the VCT 2026 season, following their failure to qualify for VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Valorant Champions.

While 2025 was a promising season for Cloud9, the North American organization has recently made several changes to its team in hopes of returning to the international stage. Most recently, the team parted ways with their in-game leader Mitch "mitch" Semago, and assistant coach Guglielmo "GUGLi" Carraro . Now the organization has officially announced that they will be moving forward without Sentinel player neT in their lineup heading into the VCT 2026 season.

neT joined Cloud9 as a late offseason addition ahead of the 2025 season, following his time at The Guard/G2 Esports and a brief stint with M80. Despite joining the team late in 2025, he and the rest of Cloud9 were able to punch above their weight, showcasing their ability to be a top team in VCT Americas. The team continuously climbed through the ranks, nearly taking down eventual World Champions NRG before ultimately just missing out on Champions Paris 2025. neT will now look to rejoin the VCT circuit with a new team as he aims to return to the Tier 1 level.

    What’s next for Cloud9?

As for Cloud9, neT’s replacement has not yet been officially revealed, though roster rumors have revealed Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro as the likely candidate to join the team. Cloud9 has enjoyed some success in VALORANT, with their best performance coming in 2021, where the team finished in 5th-8th place at VCT 2021 - VALORANT Champions 2021. They will look to qualify for their first international event since 2021 against a stacked VCT Americas cast in 2026.
