Counter-Strike: Global Offensive legend GeT_RiGhT retires to move to VALORANT
We have seen a lot of players from different games transitioning to VALORANT, ranging from Overwatch and Paladins to PLAYERUNKNOWN’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite. However, the most prominent naturally was Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, with players flocking from all tiers of the title’s competitive scene. Another well-known and established player revealed he is making the switch to VALORANT, namely Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund.
The Swedish is one of the earliest professional players to enter the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive esports scene, kicking off his career in 2007 at just 16 years old playing for Begrip Gaming. From there, his career saw him play for Ninjas in Pyjamas, SK Gaming, FNATIC, and most recently, Dignitas.
Calling GeT_RiGhT a CS:GO legend is an understatement with the number of majors and significant titles under his belt. During his time with Ninjas in Pyjamas, he won the DreamHack Masters Malmö 2016, the StarLadder i-League StarSeries Season 2, the Intel Extreme Masters XI Oakland, the DreamHack Open Valencia 2017, and the Intel Extreme Masters XII Oakland.
The list doesn’t stop there as he most recently won the Yalla Cup Winter 2020, alongside earlier victories in the Esports Championship Series Season 7 Europe and Europe Minor Championship London 2018. There is no doubt that the VALORANT esports world will await the news of which organization GeT_RiGhT will call home, whether as a professional player or content creator.
