Florescent allegations: All statements and accusations

Over the last month, several statements and accusations have been made towards former pro player and Game Changers superstar Ava "florescent" Eugene. The original allegation of sexual assault was made by a retired Game Changers player Marceline "karie" Carson, who was supposedly speaking on behalf of her close friend.

Following karie’s statement, several people from the community, including former teammates from her Shopify Rebellion Gold days, brought up their own experiences with Florescent. These accusations ranged from various forms of manipulative behavior and pathological lying.

The Original Accusation

On May 17, karie released a statement detailing an incident that occurred between Florescent and a close friend of hers, who had decided to stay anonymous and was given the alias of “Brick.” According to the Google Doc, Florescent had sexually assaulted Brick when the victim visited her home at the beginning of 2024.

The following day, karie released a new document supposedly written by Brick herself, detailing the incident at Florescent’s house, along with details around her full relationship with Florescent. She alleged that Florescent was emotionally manipulative throughout their time together, and even went so far as to supposedly bait out emotions using a fake suicide note. She also had an alleged ex-girlfriend of Florescent give a statement on how the retired pro had treated her during their relationship.

Florescent quickly denied these allegations, and said that she'd would be providing the public with an update once she find legal assistance.

Riot Games responds

Shortly after, Riot Games acknowledged the situation on social media, stating that they will work with any legal investigation and will assess whether these allegations will affect Florescent’s eligibility as a professional player moving forward. However, there were also a handful of people from Florescent’s past that stood up to reveal their experiences with the former pro.

Florescent’s former Game Changers team releases a statement

On June 19, Florescent’s former teammates from Shopify Rebellion Gold released a joint statement, stating that although all of the players considered her a friend, friends must hold each other accountable. They condemned Florescent’s behavior, supported the victims, and asked the community to refrain from talking about the situation’s impact on the GC scene.

Former teammate Sarah speaks up

In addition to the group statement from Shopify Rebellion, Sarah "sarah" Simpson made her own individual statement with her own experiences with Florescent. According to Sarah, she had offered up her home to Florescent to help her escape an abusive and dangerous home life, and as a result, she spent a lot of time with her over two years.

[I] feel I have a responsibility to make one thing incredibly clear: although I cannot personally confirm the allegations of SA, I would like to attest to the accusations of an extremely malicious pattern of behavior that involved emotional manipulation, "sucidbaiting", and pathological lying, as is levied in the documents. I also want to make clear that, throughout our relationship, I truly did not believe her capable of the level of harm that is alleged, but having seen the screenshots and experiences shared by the victims, I have had to reevaluate that position.

Sarah says that she constantly urged Florescent to find professional help for her problems, but she believes that her sympathy “was largely taken advantage of.”
