Florescent finishes first stint in EMEA as one of top players in multiple combat stats but ends winless with APEKS
Ava "florescent" Eugene made history last December when she became the first Game Changers player to sign to a tier one VCT team, after joining Apeks. Her arrival was historic, and there were plenty of expectations on her, since she was known as the best player from the Game Changers scene—and one of the most accurate and explosive players to play professionally. Apeks had plenty of hype that followed the superstar signing, but they failed to win a single series during VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - EMEA Stage 1 and dropped out of playoff contention. It was such an underwhelming finish to their stage, despite Florescent's stellar performances.
In Stage One, Florescent was one of the best performing players in the league. She was in the top five for average damage per round and kills per round, and had a 235.8 ACS which was seventh-highest in the league. She also had a destructive 35 percent headshot percentage, making her one of the most accurate players in the league as well. She also had the fourth-most multikills of any player in EMEA, making her one of the most deadly opponents to face off against on the server. She also plays almost any duelist agent, making her a very flexible tool for her team when drafting up a team composition. She is often the player with the most kills and highest ACS on her team, as seen by their final match vs. GIANTX
Even though Flor's been incredible in her EMEA debut, Apeks only managed to win two maps all stage long, finishing as the worst team in Alpha Group, and the only team in the league to finish without a win. It was tough for the team to rally around Florescent's efforts, even with the addition of Peter "Governor" No before the start of Stage One. Governor, who was THESPIKE.GG's lowest rated player of Stage One, ended with the lowest ACS of any player in the league with a 145.2 ACS. Auni "AvovA" Chahade was also among the players with the lowest ACS, sitting at a 167 ACS.
This season must have been a shock for Florescent, who said this she's "never been at such a low in [her] life" before. She might have gotten used to absolutely dominating the competition in the Game Changers scene with Shopify Rebellion. When she was playing for Shopify Rebellion, she had never seen such hardships, since the team was constantly winning. Florescent was coming off of back-to-back Game Changers championships at VALORANT Game Changers 2023 - Championship: São Paulo and VCT Game Changers 2024 - Championship, where she took home Most Valuable Players awards at both tournaments.
It isn't known if Florescent will remain with Apeks after this year, since her contract will be expiring at the end of this year, according to Riot's Global Contract Database. There are some big decisions lying ahead of both Florescent, and the various teams around the world who might be looking for an absolutely electric duelist who can take over a server with her pure firepower.
