Florescent releases full response to sexual assault allegations

Over the last month, former VALORANT pro player and Game Changers superstar Ava "florescent" Eugene has been under fire after a plethora of allegations were levied against her. The most serious claim involved an incident where the 18-year-old allegedly sexually assaulted her then-partner, who was given the alias of “Brick.”

These accusations were brought to light by retired Game Changers player Marceline "karie" Carson, who had released the information on behalf of her close friend, Brick. Shortly after, additional claims surfaced against Florescent, detailing individual relationships, toxic behavior, and other manipulative tendencies. Even her old teammates on Shopify Rebellion Gold made a statement condemning Florescent and her actions, especially because they had seen screenshots and other conversations that supposedly showed "an undeniable pattern of manipulation."

Until now, Florescent has remained relatively silent, aside from a brief response on May 17. She did say that she had been advised to refrain from releasing further information until it became necessary.

In a new statement, Florescent has addressed the situation and the various allegations made against her, beginning with a firm denial of the sexual assault claim. She acknowledged that her relationship with Brick was “extremely toxic from both ends,” involving repeated instances of guilt-tripping and manipulation from both parties.

"This past week has been a huge learning experience for me. The allegations pushed away a lot of people I thought I was close to, and I am grateful that I was fortunate enough to talk to some of my closest friends; and they were able to help me see how my behaviour in the past was wrong, hurtful, or manipulative."

Florescent responded to multiple parts of Brick’s statement with her own perspective. Regarding the alleged incident on Jan. 3, she maintains that she did not engage in non-consensual sexual activity. She provided several screenshots of conversations between herself and Brick, which she claims show mutual enthusiasm and consent for the interaction.

More accusations

Florescent also accused Brick of harassing her by creating fake phone numbers, multiple email addresses, and alternate Discord accounts in order to maintain contact. According to her, the situation escalated to the point where she felt it necessary to reach out to Brick’s mother for intervention. Brick had reportedly asked Florescent to visit her on April 12 of last year, but the former pro declined. Instead, Karie allegedly visited her place—a decision Brick had described as a “horrible idea,” claiming Karie tried to force herself onto her while she was intoxicated.

Florescent also addressed other rumors that had surfaced, such as accusations of pedophilia, along with in-game screenshots showing her name spamming derogatory remarks in VALORANT matches. She assured readers that she has always been, at most, a one year age gap with all of her relationship partners, and that the account spamming the remarks was not her.

Florescent concluded the statement by apologizing for her past behavior, particularly in her relationships, acknowledging that her actions were hurtful and wrong. She emphasized that she is not seeking forgiveness but is committed to taking responsibility and working toward personal growth. Florescent noted that the process of unlearning harmful behavior will take time and that she is prioritizing self-improvement and rehabilitation before considering her next steps.

Looking ahead, Florescent will still not be playing for the rest of 2025 and has not spoken much about her potential return to professional play. Riot had also said that they will be assessing whether these allegations will affect Florescent’s eligibility to compete in any competition moving forward.
