Foxy9 departs Gen.G, Already LFT for 2026 VCT season
Gen.G Esports and Jung "Foxy9" Jae-sung have officially parted ways after one and a half years together. The split was mutually agreed upon, and Gen.G wished Foxy9 the best in his future endeavors.
Four years in the VCT
Foxy9 made his VCT debut with KIWOOM DRX in 2022, primarily serving as a sixth player and occasionally rotating with flex player Kim "Zest" Gi-seok. During his time with DRX, Foxy9 made his first international appearance at VCT 2023 - Masters Tokyo and later attended VCT 2024 - Champions 2024 in Korea.
In the 2024 offseason, Foxy9 was picked up by Gen.G, where he became the team’s primary Sentinel player. In 2025, Gen.G qualified for just one international event, VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Toronto 2025, where they finished in 5th–6th place. At the start of 2026, Foxy9 was left out of the starting lineup for Kickoff, as Gen.G moved him to the bench. DRX Academy player Kim "ZynX" Dong-ha was brought in during January 2026 and slotted into the starting five.
Although Foxy9 made two stage appearances during Stage 1, it was clear he was no longer part of the core lineup.
Already LFT
The two matches Foxy9 played during Stage 1 both ended in losses, and both he and Gen.G felt it was time to go their separate ways. The Korean player is already exploring new opportunities for the remainder of the season. He posted a “Looking For Team” message on X, stating that he is eager to compete again.
Foxy9 has only competed in the Pacific region so far but is open to switching regions if the right opportunity arises. He also plans to continue playing Sentinel, his most comfortable role.
