MIBR allows entire roster to explore options ahead of 2027 season
Despite securing its place as a partner team for the 2027 season, MIBR has allowed its entire roster to explore options on the transfer market. All players have been moved to the inactive roster as negotiations continue, suggesting that MIBR could enter the new season with a completely revamped lineup.
MIBR could field an entirely new roster in 2027
When no one saw it coming, MIBR dropped one of the most unexpected bombshells of the off-season, and the transfer window has not even officially opened yet. On October 23, the Brazilian organization announced changes to its VALORANT roster ahead of the 2027 season.
Although all players have been moved to the inactive roster, they remain under contract with MIBR. The team has allowed them to explore their options on the transfer market, with negotiations expected to continue over the coming weeks.

Following discussions with the players’ representatives and considering the significant changes to the competitive structure for 2027, including the regional transition and the challenges associated with it, MIBR has decided to reassess its VALORANT roster for the upcoming season. As part of this process, the players will be moved to the inactive roster and made available for transfer negotiations. All existing contractual obligations remain in effect, and any potential transfers will be negotiated directly with MIBR. We appreciate the players’ dedication and contributions to the organization and remain committed to handling this transition professionally and respectfully.
The end of the superteam
At the start of the 2026 season, MIBR unveiled what was dubbed a “superteam.” Featuring big names and international title winners, the roster came with high expectations, but the results fell short of what was expected.
The Brazilian organization failed to qualify for any international event in 2026, with its best result being a fourth-place finish at VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 - Americas Kickoff. MIBR also fell short of qualifying for VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 - Masters Santiago 2026 despite having three consecutive shots at doing so.
Now, the entire roster has been given the opportunity to explore their options on the transfer market, while remaining under contract. It is important to note that MIBR can still retain any of its players, as they all remain under contract with the organization.
The following MIBR players could be heading to new teams or regions during the upcoming transfer window:
- Andrew "Verno" Maust
- Erick "aspas" Santos
- Zachary "zekken" Patrone
- Roberto "Mazino" Rivas
- Ian "tex" Botsch
In fact, tex was the first player to announce that he had been allowed to explore his options on the transfer market, revealing the news on his X account at the end of September.
The future of MIBR’s lineup remains uncertain, but the 2027 transfer window is shaping up to be one to watch closely.
