FrosT opens up on FULL SENSE move and "crazy three weeks" - "This GE thing didn't bother me that much"

Three weeks. That's all the time Hector "FrosT" Rosario had to settle into his new role as head coach of FULL SENSE before stepping back into competition. In an exclusive interview with THESPIKE, the veteran coach reflected on his whirlwind transition from Global Esports, his upcoming clash against his former team, and how he's adapting his coaching philosophy to fit a completely different locker room culture.

A Chaotic Few Weeks, But a Winning Start

FrosT didn't sugarcoat how hectic the buildup to Stage 2 has been. "It was kind of all over the place," he admitted. "Felt like we didn't have a lot of time, but I'm still feeling good."

Despite the compressed timeline, FULL SENSE opened Stage 2 with a win, even after some rocky moments on the server. FrosT credited his prior relationship with the roster for softening the transition.

"I think it really helped that obviously I know them so well... but still crazy three weeks, man, crazy three weeks."

Stress, Culture, and Learning to Let Go

When asked how the pressure of the move affected him mentally, FrosT pointed to his long history in esports as a source of resilience.

"If people really knew some of the disappointments I've had in my life when it comes to esports, I think they'd realize that even this GE thing didn't bother me that much."

What struck him most wasn't the stress of transition but a cultural contrast between his old and new locker rooms. He described a moment after a shaky map where his new, younger Thai roster took accountability without needing to be pushed. "They're okay with it. They know I'm mad at them about the throws in this game... but they're all just like, yeah, we know, our bad. But we got you, though. We still won."

That directness resonated with him. He feels he is a better fit on a team with people "that are a little bit more objective." He contrasted this with his time at 100 Thieves and GE, where he felt he had to tread carefully.

"Sometimes you have to walk on eggshells when you try to make corrections. I'm just not from a culture where you need to do that, man. Like, I messed up. My bad. It's on me. Move on. But that's not how it is everywhere."

No Personal Feelings Heading Into the GE Match

With FULL SENSE set to face FrosT's former team, GE, next week, the storyline writes itself. But FrosT was quick to shut down any narrative of revenge. His focus, he insists, is squarely on the bigger picture: qualifying for Champions. FrosT explained that while he understands the matchup will carry weight for everyone watching, and that fans may be drawn to the drama surrounding it, he views it simply as business as usual from his own perspective.

"To me, I don't care. I already told them, who cares? I don't need them to win for me... There will be no personal feelings from my side coming out of that matchup. Trust me, there won't."

Building Trust with Coach THEE and Sushi

One of the more unexpected parts of FrosT's move to FULL SENSE was how smoothly he integrated with the existing coaching staff, Coach Thanaphat "THEE" Limpaphan and Panyawat "sushiboys" Subsiriroj. FrosT admitted he approached the situation cautiously at first, aware that being brought in above existing coaches could easily breed resentment.

"I made it a point to tell Crws, like, if they don't want me there, it's okay. I can still help you on the side," he recalled telling the team's captain. Instead, he found the opposite reception. "THEE and Sushi wanted me here too," he said, noting that mutual respect built from past matchups against FULL SENSE played a role.

"It wasn't ego around that decision. I think that is so rare."

FrosT described the resulting dynamic as refreshingly seamless, calling it a "pretty beautiful working relationship." He noted that people wouldn't believe how smooth the transition was, especially considering he had never worked with THEE and Sushi before.

Redefining Roles Without Overhauling the Team

Rather than imposing wholesale changes, FrosT explained that his approach was rooted in perspective, not control. "My mentality coming in here wasn't to change everything or to do things my way," he said. Instead, he leaned on his history as an opponent who had studied and beaten this exact roster. "It's giving the perspective of, here's how I beat you. And here's what I think about what you're doing. And here are the gaps and the weaknesses that you have."

That mutual understanding extends to how the coaching staff communicates with players, particularly across language and cultural lines. FrosT, known for his fiery in-game demeanor, has found an unlikely translator in Coach THEE. "Even when I get really mad, before I say something crazy, I tell THEE... he'll be like, I got it," FrosT laughed. He explained that English profanity often lands harsher than intended, while Thai communication can be direct without carrying the same aggressive weight.

"It's kind of funny because I don't even have to get mad because THEE just says what needs to be said for me."

The Deadlock Gambit: Taking the Ball Out of Primmie's Hands

Perhaps the most tactically significant revelation came when FrosT detailed the thinking behind limiting star duelist Papaphat "Primmie" Sriprapha's usual Jett pick in favor of Deadlock and Cypher-based compositions. The decision, he explained, was rooted in matchup logic against Nongshim's defensive tools. "If we want to play Jett... does Jett have the tools to stop Neon and Phoenix? No."

He also factored in scouting and prediction. He predicted that Nongshim would be prepared for a Sage pick from FS, and that their prep against Deadlock and Cypher would be lackluster. Betting on his read of the veto phase, FrosT convinced his players—who already had comfort and chemistry with the composition—to commit to the plan.

"It required the veto to go exactly how I predicted, which was obviously fortunate for me that it did."

While the execution wasn't flawless, FrosT was satisfied with the outcome. "Even though things didn't go as planned... we can still take a win from a really good team. I think that is very positive." He was careful, though, not to overcommit to the strategy long-term. "I'm not going to say that I'm going to keep them on Deadlock every map, but for this matchup, I thought it was very important that we slow them down. And I think we did enough to win."

You can watch the full interview below.

As FULL SENSE heads into a high-stakes rematch against GE, FrosT's message is clear. His focus has shifted away from the past and toward building a culture rooted in trust, accountability, and adaptability with his new roster. Whether or not the GE storyline dominates headlines, for FrosT, the mission remains singular: get FULL SENSE to Champions.
