G2 Esports parts ways with JonahP after two years
G2 Esports has announced that Jonah "JonahP" Pulice is officially leaving the roster. After two years as the team’s flex player, G2 is looking for a fresh start after falling short of an international title throughout the VCT 2025 season. After being a part of one of America’s strongest teams, JonahP will be a sought-after player on the offseason market.
Ascension winner
JonahP was part of The Guard roster that won the VCT 2023 - Challengers Ascension: AMERICAS, earning a spot in VCT Americas. However, when The Guard failed to meet the deadline to sign the Team Participation Agreement, the team was disqualified. The decision sparked backlash across the VALORANT community, as many saw it as unfair to the players who had fought their way to Tier 1.
G2 stepped in and signed the entire roster to two-year contracts, taking over The Guard’s VCT Americas slot. Since then, JonahP has been a core part of the team, helping G2 claim three straight regional titles in 2025.
Chasing International Success
Despite dominating the regional circuit, G2 has yet to lift an international trophy. Their closest finish came at VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Bangkok 2025, where they placed second. As the team looks to make a deeper run in 2026, G2 has opted to make roster changes, starting with JonahP’s move off the active lineup.
G2 chapter coming to a close
With his contract nearing its end, JonahP will spend the remainder of his time on G2’s bench. Rumors have already surfaced about players trying out for his spot, including G2’s current stand-in, Andrej "babybay" Francisty. For now, four players remain active on the roster as Red Bull Home Ground 2025 - Main Event approaches.
G2’s current roster:
- Alexander "jawgemo" Mor
- Trent "trent" Cairns
- Nathan "leaf" Orf
- Jacob "valyn" Batio
- Andrej "babybay" Francisty (Stand-in)
- Josh "JoshRT" Lee (Head Coach)
