Gen.G Esports recently announced the departure of Kenneth "koosta" Suen from their Valorant roster with plans to trial replacements in the coming weeks while simultaneously competing in smaller tournaments.

Kenneth "koosta" Suen was formerly a member of the organization’s prior CS:GO squad, but transitioned into Valorant in early 2021 by joining Gen.G's VALORANT lineup serving as a replacement for Keven "PLAYER1" Champagne. koosta had been a part of the professional CS:GO scene with experience playing for teams like Team Liquid, Counter-Logic Gaming, Cloud9, and last but not the least, Gen.G.

During his time in CSGO, not only did he compete in the scene’s most prestigious tournaments but also has managed high-place finishes, most notably including a 1st place at the DreamHack Open Anaheim 2020, as well as a 2nd place in ESL Pro League Season 8 - North America. After two key members of the Gen.G CSGO team left, their performance gradually deteriorated motivating koosta to switch to Valorant.

He has been a crucial part of the Gen.G Valorant team helping the team rank among the top ten teams in the North American region based on circuit points in VCT 2021. Gen.G’s was arguably in their best form during Stage 1 of VCT 2021 when they managed to secure a 3rd place at VCT 2021 - Stage 1 - North America Masters only a few days after a 4th at VCT 2021 - Stage 1 - North America - Challengers 3. Due to frequent roster changes, their performance stagnated while other teams rose through the ranks surpassing them on several occasions. However, they managed to maintain the 5th-6th spot in most tournaments securing them a spot at VCT 2021 - North America Last Chance Qualifier. Unfortunately, though, they couldn’t finish better than 5th-6th place even at that tournament. In recent times, the team has had even worse fate as they failed to qualify for both Stage 1 Qualifiers, eliminating them from the race to the Stage 1 Masters.

With koosta’s departure, the Gen.G’s roster is as follows:

United States Shawn "Shawn" O'Riley United States Nicholas "NaturE" Garrison Canada Anthony "gMd" Guimond Bosnia and Herzegovina Emir "rhyme" Muminovic
