South Korean organization Gen.G Esports announced that it has parted ways with its youngster, Kim "Secret" Ha-jin.

Secret departs Gen.G after short VCT LOCK//IN run

Secret, who previously played for aNg DarkHorse and DAMWON Gaming, took his place in the roster with the formation of Gen.G's newly-formed team in October 2022. Since then, he has only competed in 2 tournaments, Gwangju Esports Series: Asia and VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo.

In his final match for Gen.G Esports against LOUD at VCT LOCK//IN, Secret was last on his team's score sheet with 25/37/22 KDA, -12 KD, 81 ADR and a rating of 0.81.

Gen.G Esports entered the 2023 season with high hopes, but failed to overcome the eventual finalists in São Paulo. The former VALORANT Champions 2022 triumphant, LOUD, were simply the better side. The Korean team lost 13:9 on Pearl and 14:12 on Fracture against the Brazilian team and had to go home without securing a single map in the event.

Gen.G Esports then decided to make a roster change to its VALORANT team after the loss against LOUD in São Paulo by expanding by announcing the transfers of Ko "Sylvan" Young-sub and Kim "GodDead" Sung-sin on March 8. After announcing the departure of Secret, Gen.G seems to have decided to continue fielding a 6-man roster aheaad of the VCT International League.

Gen.G's VALORANT roster is now composed of:

South Korea Kim "Meteor" Tae-O South Korea Yeom "eKo" Wang-ryong South Korea Yu "TS" Tae-seok South Korea Lee "k1Ng" Seung-won South Korea Ko "Sylvan" Young-sub South Korea Kim "GodDead" Sung-sin

Australia Chris "Elmapuddy" Tebbit (Head Coach) South Korea Lee "bail" Sung-jae (Coach)
