Gentle Mates reportedly sign on kamyk for EMEA 2025 Stage One
After Team Liquid's surprising roster move following their exit from VCT 2025 - Masters Bangkok 2025, many fans were wondering where they'd see Maks "kamyk" Rychlewski playing next. The 21-year-old had been removed from the starting roster, and reportedly replaced by a rookie VCT newcomer from the EMEA Challengers scene. Now, kamyk has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with his next home.
A new stage, a new Gentle Mate
According to esports reporter Alejandro Gomis, kamyk has reportedly reached an agreement with Gentle Mates. He will be supposedly replacing Robbie "RobbieBK" Boerkamp on the roster, who just joined Gentle Mates at the end of last year as in-game leader.
Kamyk and RobbieBK were actually teammates during their short stint with JobLife when they played in VCL - France: Revolution Split 2 and VCT 2024 - Ascension: EMEA. During VCT 2025 - EMEA Kickoff, Gentle Mates struggled to push far into the tournament, faltering against Team Heretics in the upper bracket quarterfinals 2-1, and losing to Fnatic in the second round of the lower bracket in two games. RobbieBK didn't have eyepopping stats throughout the tournament, with a 1.21 KDA and a 154 ACS.
Kamyk has managed to find a team to call home before the start of Stage One, although now, it isn't known who will be the in-game leader of the roster. Kamyk has been one of the more promising prospects in EMEA, as shown in his time in France and in the Ascension tournament. His performances helped earn his promotion into the VCT. Many fans were shocked to find out that he was supposedly going to be replaced by Team Liquid only two events into the year, but he can continue to prove himself on the big stage.
