Only three months into 2025, Team Liquid might be making some big changes to its VALORANT division following their early exit from VCT 2025 - Masters Bangkok 2025. The management may be looking to make some changes to its lineup before the start of VCT 2025 - EMEA Stage 1. The winds of change could help Liquid prosper or ruin their chances at attending VCT 2025 - Masters Toronto 2025 later this year.

Surprising roster shifts

According to esports reporter Alejandro Gomis, the organization will be reportedly benching Maks "kamyk" Rychlewski before Stage One begins. It is news that is surprising to many fans, considering their recent form. The team just came off an unfortunate performance at Masters Bangkok where they were unable to qualify for the playoffs following losses to EDward Gaming and G2 Esports. However, before that, they were coming off an impressive run through VCT 2025 - EMEA Kickoff where they fought their way to the Grand Finals vs. Team Vitality from the lower bracket.

Additionally, Gomis reports that kamyk is already in talks with multiple VCT teams, while Liquid has not reached any agreement with a replacement player just yet. The 21-year-old played for Fnatic back in 2023, but played exceptionally well on French organization Joblife. Many people lauded him for his performances, and thought his progression up to VCT made perfect sense. The exact reason for kamyk's departure from the starting roster isn't known. During EMEA's 2025 Kickoff, he had a 1.1 KDA, 201 ACS, and averaged just under 15 kills a game. However, at Masters Bangkok, he did see a downturn in his stats, with his KDA dropping to 0.84, his ACS dropping to 180, and averaging only 13.5 kills a map.

Meanwhile, Liquid will have two weeks to find a player to add to the roster and integrate them into the gameplan, which could be challenging, depending on how well the new player meshes with their new team. As of publishing, they haven't confirmed kamyk's benching, but stay locked in with THESPIKE.GG for updates on their roster situation.
