Global Esports Reportedly Signing Yoman and ban in Major Mid-Season Overhaul
Global Esports is reportedly making significant roster changes ahead of the second split of the 2025 VCT Pacific League, with sources indicating the team has reached verbal agreements to sign Korean veteran Chae "yoman" Young-mun and former TALON player Joseph Oh "Ban" Seung-min.
While these moves have not yet been officially confirmed by the organization, they signal a potential shake-up following the team’s underwhelming performance in the first half of the season.
Yoman Nearing VCT Return with Global Esports
According to sources close to the situation, yoman has reached a verbal agreement to join Global Esports ahead of the VCT Pacific 2025 Stage 2. While no official announcement has been made, this move would mark the 28-year-old’s return to top-tier competition after a short stint with Gen.G Esports.
Yoman’s path to the top tier has been anything but typical. In 2023, he competed with Shadow Corporation in Korea’s VCL before joining Rare Atom in China, where strong individual performances were overshadowed by EDward Gaming’s dominance. He returned to Korea in 2024 with Nongshim RedForce and later joined Gen.G for several off-season events, In early 2025, he competed with Gen.G at VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Pacific Kickoff, where the team placed third before parting ways with him.
Now a free agent, his reported deal with Global Esports marks a potential return to Tier-1.
Sources: ban Set to Join as patrickWHO Departs
In a separate report, Global Esports is also said to have signed ban, a veteran known for his tenures with T1 and TALON. This move would come as part of a broader roster shake-up following the team's disappointing showing at the VCT Pacific Kickoff and Stage 1.
The team reportedly parted ways with PatrickWHO, who is no longer under contract. However, as with Yoman’s situation, this roster change has yet to be officially confirmed by the organization.
ban brings substantial experience and a versatile playstyle. His time with T1 saw him contribute significantly to the team’s regional success, while his stint with TALON added further international exposure to his résumé. If finalized, his arrival could bring much-needed leadership and adaptability to a team in search of direction.
Internal Shifts Reflect Strategic Reset
Alongside the reported signings, sources indicate that Global Esports is adjusting player roles internally. Go "UdoTan" Kyung-won is expected to take over duelist responsibilities, while Derrick "Deryeon" Yee, recently reintroduced to the starting lineup, may be moved back to a substitute position.
These changes signal a comprehensive reset after yet another rough result for the organization in the Pacific League.
Eyes on July: Will the New Look Pay Off?
Though unconfirmed, these reported changes suggest Global Esports is making a serious push to recover in VCT Pacific Stage 2, starting this July. If both signings go through, the team will enter the next stage with two experienced additions and a recalibrated roster structure.
Still, until official confirmation arrives from Global Esports, the community will watch closely to see if this rumored rebuild becomes reality.
