Lotus takes over: A look at the most played maps of Masters Toronto
VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Toronto 2025 has come and gone granting Paper Rex their very first international trophy. Now that the dust has settled, though, it is time to look at the maps that shaped the tournament.
Curious which were the most played maps of Masters Toronto, and which teams performed best on each? Let's have a look!
Lotus reigns in Toronto
It may come as no surprise that Lotus was the most played map at the tournament with a total of 15 games taking place there (19.74% pick rate). In fact, the map went went on to become a favorite of PRX fans everywhere as the tournament progressed. It wasn't just that Paper Rex would go on to win every single game that they played on Lotus, but rather it's how they did it.
Three of the teams' four wins on the map came in overtime, including the final map of the Grand Finals against Fnatic. As for the remaining game? Also an incredibly close 13-11 win against G2 Esports early on in the bracket. When push came to shove, Lotus always smiled upon Paper Rex in the end.
Icebox and Split follow suit
After Lotus, Icebox and Split were all tied up as the second most picked maps of Masters Toronto with 13 picks each (17.11% pick rate). Over the course of the tournament, Icebox in particular stood out for being the most Attack-sided map of the entire event, with teams winning nearly 60% of their Attack rounds on Icebox.
Who dominated each map?
We've talked about Paper Rex's miracles on Lotus, but where the champions of Toronto were truly at their most dominant was on Pearl. Most impressively, the giants of the Pacific held a whopping 82% Attack round win rate on the map, demonstrating just how comfortable the team felt on Pearl while on the aggressive.
Meanwhile, over on the side of Fnatic, the Kings of EMEA showed off their deep map pool at the tournament after becoming the best performing team across three different maps at Masters Toronto: Icebox, Ascent, and Split. Interestingly, the team held a far higher Attack round win rate than they did on the Defense side of things at every single one of those maps.
As for Sunset, which was the fourth most picked map at Toronto, Sentinels made it their playground. Despite their one tight loss to Paper Rex on the map, the North American team demonstrated a terrific understanding of Sunset at the tournament, comfortably winning all their other games on the map.
Last but not least, we have Gen.G Esports. The South Korean squad were by far the top performers on the least played map of Masters Toronto: Haven. The team simply looked on another level on the map, particularly on the Defense side of things, where Gen.G held a sky-high 77% round win rate after wins against powerhouses like G2 Esports or Fnatic, as well as a crushing 13-1 victory over MIBR.
