M80 picks up chet as new head coach
After six months on the sidelines, Chet "Chet" Singh is returning to head coaching duties, this time with M80. He will be taking over just in time for VCL 2025 - North America: Stage 2, as M80 looks for redemption after faltering at the finish line at the VCL 2025 - North America: Stage 1 Grand Finals vs. Shopify Rebellion Black. The team struggled to find a foothold against their talented opponents, dropping the series 3-1.
Chet, on the other hand, will be stepping into the head coaching role, marking his return to professional play since his departure from the scene back in October 2024, when he was suspended by Riot Games after he was found streaming VoDs from his time with NRG. He didn't have permission from Riot, NRG, or any of the other teams involved to publically broadcast the VoDs, therefore breaking Riot's Global Esports Code of Conduct.
Throughout his career, he has worked as a coach for NRG, OpTic Gaming, Envy, and TSM. He has also won an international trophy at VCT 2022 - Stage 1 - Masters Reykjavík, and has a handful of top five finishes at international events. Over the last five years, the 28-year-old has built up an impressive resume, despite how unimpressive his 2024 campaign was. Last year, he failed to lead a powerhouse roster that featured players like Max "Demon1" Mazanov, Jimmy "Marved" Nguyen, Victor "Victor" Wong, Ethan "Ethan" Arnold and Austin "crashies" Roberts to a single playoff berth through both stages. This roster also missed all of the international events that year, despite the hype and firepower that they had at their fingertips.
He'll be taking over an M80 roster that was one series away from winning VCL 2025 - North America: Stage 1, and his experience could be the key to unlocking the team's championship-winning form. If you want to stay updated with all things VALORANT esports, stay locked in with THESPIKE.GG
