With only 10 days until the start of VCT 2025 - Americas Stage 1, FURIA has revealed some troubling news around their VALORANT division. Due to health concerns, the team's talented initiator Leonardo "mwzera" Serrati will be removed from the starting roster and placed on the substitute squad.

The team announced his departure from the main lineup on March 11, forcing FURIA to find a new fifth member so close to a major event. These upcoming games will determine if the organization will get to represent the region at VCT 2025 - Masters Toronto 2025, and FURIA will need their entire roster at full power if they wish to compete at the highest level to ensure their slot at Masters Toronto.

A serious situation

According to mwzera on X, the situation around his health is very serious and it wasn't his decision to step down from the starting roster. He was ordered by his doctor to stop playing, and that he must wait until he gets the go-ahead from medical professionals to even live stream, much less join the team for practice and perform on stage. He did promise his fans that he will explain the entire situation once he is allowed to stream, but the timeline isn't known yet.

As for FURIA's roster situation, the management will be announcing mwzera's replacement soon, and that they will be continuing practice for Stage One. This is a pretty massive blow for FURIA, considering how the team struggled during VCT 2025 - Americas Kickoff. They only managed to win one series against 2Game Esports, before getting swept in back to back series vs. Leviatán and Evil Geniuses, leading to their elimination from the tournament. Over the games that the 23-year-old played, he had a 166 ACS and a 1.21 KDA.

Hopefully, he is able to recover and rest up enough to be able to return to stage. If you want to keep updated with FURIA's roster situation, stay locked with THESPIKE.GG.
