Nongshim RedForce and 100 Thieves eliminate Vitality and MIBR at EWC 2026

Day 2 of the EWC - Esports World Cup 2026 playoffs in Paris saw tournament favorites Team Vitality and MIBR bow out as Nongshim RedForce and 100 Thieves booked their spots in the semifinals.

Nongshim RedForce dismantle Vitality

Vitality’s quarterfinal against Masters Santiago champions Nongshim RedForce started well enough on Ascent.

Despite a shaky opening half on their own map pick, the EMEA super team locked in a flawless defensive game plan after the switch, suffocating NS and closing out Ascent 13–10. However, Nongshim roared back on Split, imposing themselves on both attack and defense to level the series with a commanding 13–7 win.

Breeze then turned into a nightmare for Vitality, as Nongshim dominated from pistol to finish, tearing through the Paris‑based squad and conceding just two rounds in a brutal 13–2 stomp to secure their semifinal berth.

100 Thieves outlast resilient MIBR

The day’s second series, 100 Thieves vs MIBR, was another full‑distance clash between Americas representatives. On Fracture, picked by MIBR, the North American side came out swinging, steamrolling the Brazilians 13–2 to take an early lead.

MIBR answered back on Breeze, punishing 100T on defense and storming to a 9–3 attacking half; despite a spirited comeback attempt from 100 Thieves, MIBR held firm to close the map 13–10 and force Haven.

The decider was all 100 Thieves: a solid 7–5 defensive half set the stage for a flawless attack, with six straight rounds sealing a 13–5 win and a semifinal showdown against Nongshim RedForce.
