REJECT finalizes roster for VCT 2022 adding takej

REJECT have finalized their roster for the VCT 2022 season with the introduction of Shogo "takej" Takemori as the final piece of their puzzle.

Like most other teams in the scene, Reject didn’t hold back when it came to roster changes in the off-season. Their intentions to revamp the roster became clear when Kaminari’s contract wasn’t renewed in early November. After a brief hiatus, two changes were announced in rapid succession. First and foremost being the departure of Yuma "Dep" Hashimoto to ZETA DIVISION and Ryumon "Reita" Oshiro’s arrival at Reject. Halfway through December, they announced that Jyousuke "zepher" Matsuda of Crazy Raccoon would be joining the roster with one more impending change, which happened to be takej’s induction.

Takej is no stranger to the professional esports scene, being involved since the beginning of competitive CSGO in the Japanese region. Although the CSGO scene never took off in the region, VALORANT has had better luck in Japan. The success of the shooter motivated several CSGO players to transition to the new shooter and takej followed the trend joining ZETA DIVISION formerly known as Absolute Jupiter. The team was unstoppable in the region winning tournament after another coming second only at VCT 2021 - Stage 1 - Japan Masters and VCT 2021 - Stage 2 - Japan - Challengers Finals in the region. However, they had difficulty on the international stage at VCT 2021 - Stage 3 - Masters Berlin - Group Stage, where they couldn’t make it out of the Group Stages.

The team that he will be joining has, however, not been able to keep up to similar standards with only a regional masters participation and a couple of Challengers victories. Nonetheless, it is worth highlighting that they secured a spot at VCT 2021 - APAC Last Chance Qualifier when ZETA DIVISION backed out stating that the organization seeks to restructure its Valorant roster in a bid to perform better in international events. Their run at the event was cut short in the Upper Bracket by FULL SENSE and Dplus in the Lower Bracket. It seems that the loss served as the motivation for the team to diagnose the changes it required for the 2022 season. These new additions do present a renewed hope for the team in the upcoming VCT.

After this change, Reject’s roster is as follows:

Japan HaReeee Japan Masahiro "Feez" Morisaki Japan Yusuke "NoriseN" Shima Japan Ryumon "Reita" Oshiro Japan Jyousuke "zepher" Matsuda Japan Shogo "takej" Takemori
