Report: Cloud9's floppy to switch from CS:GO to C9 Blue VALORANT

The recent news of Cloud9 parting ways with one of the team’s founding members, Skyler "Relyks" Weaver, has quickly been followed up with rumors on who will step up to take his place. Although the VALORANT esports fans started giving out names from within the existing competitive player pool, a recent report from Rush B Media, with George Geddes, suggests it will be one of Cloud9’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players, Ricky "floppy" Kemery.

For those of you unfamiliar with floppy’s CS:GO career, he has been a competitive player for over 6 years, representing the likes of Team Singularity, Vision Gaming, Vireo.pro, and most recently C9. He has won the Tokyo in Tulsa 2018, Cougar Washington D.C. Open 2018, National Championship Series: Major Chicago, and the NCS Grand Finals 2019 @ Fragadelphia 14.

As for his latest competitions with Cloud9’s CS:GO team, floppy placed 4th in both the Flashpoint Season 1 and the DreamHack Masters Spring 2020: North America, 3rd in the ESL One: Road to Rio North America, and 3rd-4th in the BLAST Premier: Fall 2020 Showdown.

The move seems to be on the horizon following the understandably disappointing results of Henry "HenryG" Greer’s Colossus roster, which was eventually set aside by Cloud9 with the organization taking a step back from competitive CS:GO as a whole. He won’t be the first or last major North American CS:GO player to make the move, following in the footsteps of the likes of Nicholas "nitr0" Cannella, Spencer "Hiko" Martin, and Timothy "autimatic" Ta.

    Cloud9 Blue’s potential roster is:

United States Mitch “mitch” Semago United States Nathan “leaf” Orf South Korea Son “xeta” Seon-ho United States Michael “poiz” Possis United States Ricky "floppy" Kemery

South Korea Yoon “Autumn” Eu-teum (Head coach) United States James “JamezIRL” Macaulay (Assistant coach)
