Back in November 2020, and after the conclusion of First Strike, Riot Games revealed their VALORANT Champions Tour for 2021 and the new VALORANT competitive season. As part of the qualification process, the Oceanic region is classified under North America and will be participating in the Champions Last Chance Qualifier together. Riot Games most recent announcement revealed that Oceanic esports provider LetsPlay.Live (LPL) has been named by Riot Games as the broadcast partner of the 2021 VALORANT Oceania Tour, which is part of the VALORANT Champions Tour.

As mentioned earlier, OCE teams will compete with North America in the Champions Last Chance Qualifiers. However, to get there, they will have to go through a series of tournaments and events for teams to participate in to reach that point. They will go through three Stages, each consisting of two Open Qualifiers, two Closed Qualifiers, and then ending it with a Grand Final.

Stage 01 kicks off shortly with the first round of Open Qualifiers taking place between February 10th and February 14th. Meanwhile, the second round of Open Qualifiers kick off a few weeks after, starting February 24th and ending February 28th. These tournaments will all be Single Elimination, with each match being a best-of-three format.

The Closed Qualifiers portion will see the winners of the first round of Open Qualifiers compete between February 18th and February 21st, while the second round winners play their matches between March 4th and March 7th. The single elimination and best-of-three format will carry on to the closed qualifiers to give teams a fair chance to prove themselves against their opponents.

Finally, the Finals are set to take place between March 18th and March 21st to decide the champion. The Grand Finals itself will be a best-of-five, with the seeding of the tournament being done based on the team’s placements in the closed qualifiers. All the aforementioned tournaments will have their own prize pools yet to be announced.

At every stage, the top 8 teams receive points. At the end of the third stage, the one with the most points secures a place in the OCE Championship in September 2021. Not only that, the top 2 teams in the Regional Finals automatically get a spot in the NA + OCE Champions Last Chance Qualifier as well.

LetsPlayLive are the official VALORANT Oceania Tour tournament organizers throughout all three tages, with matches streamed on their Twitch channel from the Closed Qualifiers onwards. Don’t forget to rely on THESPIKE.GG for all your statistics and events coverage needs as the partner of LPL for the VALORANT Oceania Tour.
