Riot Games confirms investigations of all professional VALORANT players

VALORANT’s competitive scene is still in its infancy, and yet, we already have our first cheating accusation. Former fish123 member, Ardis “ardiis” Svarenieks, was allegedly trying to find an easy way to victory through match-fixing and betting on games he was confident about. In addition, he reportedly wanted to invite a hacker into fish123 to act as a “super-sub” to close out tense games. Svarenieks responded with his side of the story, explaining they were all intentions that existed but he never acted upon any of them.

VALORANT already uses Riot Games’ powerful yet controversial Vanguard anti-cheating software, and yet people still find ways around it. The studio’s anti-cheat lead and programmer, Paul Chamberlain, was tagged on whether Riot Games have even investigated into ardiis’ case. The reply clarified the studio’s procedure before and after every VALORANT esports event, as they investigate all the participants and do additional reviews to certify the results. Although ardiis’ name wasn’t mentioned specifically, but this probably means Riot Games did their part of the investigation and cleared him for future events, since he already competed recently in the G2 Esports VALORANT Invitational.

Do you think this is enough to combat cheating and avoid any problems that may affect the long-term integrity of VALORANT esports? Let us know your thoughts in the comments down below!
