The number of VALORANT tournaments happening is continuously increasing by the day. Although the game itself is relatively easy to follow, the current state of its spectator feature leaves a lot to be desired. VALORANT executive Anna “SuperCakes” Donlon reply on Twitter revealed additional improvements and features for the game’s spectator mode are definitely in Riot Games’ plans for the upcoming updates. The plan is to release them prior to “any official kick-off” of VALORANT as an esport The spectator mode present currently wasn’t prepared for esports coverage, as Anna clarified in her tweet.

In the meantime, those interested in honing their VALORANT spectating skills, co-founder and managing director of Do Not Peek Entertainment, the former lead observer for Overwatch during his time at Blizzard Entertainment, Jason Baker gave people a number of spectating tips.

They mainly highlighted how to give the viewers an engaging experience with the action. A number of things he urged spectators to take note of was to always follow the lone player if it is a handicap, following a player who performed well the previous round, spectating the one holding the spike, and when in doubt, observe the attacking team as they are the ones naturally taking initiative.

The quality of spectating VALORANT games right now might be hindering the game’s viewership potential, but how much do you think it truly affects you while watching tournaments?

Do you agree with some of the spectator tips Baker featured in his thread? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
