Silenx revealed as stand-in for nitr0 on 100 Thieves

Jonathan "Silenx" Huntington will serve as a stand-in for Nicholas "nitr0" Cannella on the First Strike-winning 100 Thieves roster for the upcoming Challengers and Masters events, 100 Thieves have announced. nitr0 will be unavailable due to the birth of his child.

Silenx, often noted as a good friend of Peter "Asuna" Mazuryk, has been bouncing around in the VALORANT scene for some time. He’s somewhat of a hidden gem, a player with massive potential and raw skill who doesn’t often get the chance to show it. His big coming-out was when he and Sakura Storm took a map off Sentinels in the first open qualifier for First Strike. Silenx put up a monstrous 305 ACS and 27/14/7 statline in that map, and though Sakura Storm ended up losing, it was a great insight into what could lie ahead for the player.

The biggest question-mark is not Silenx’ talent, but what role he will occupy in the team. His primary duelist spot is taken by Asuna, and nitr0 previously played Omen for the team. Whether Silenx will take the smokes, Asuna will shift roles, or something else entirely might happen will be one of the most interesting things to watch with the team.

Silenx has all the skill needed to be a star even on as high-tier a roster as 100 Thieves, but will the roles and team structure fit the way they did with nitr0 to keep 100 Thieves ahead of the chasing pack?

    100 Thieves are now:

United States Spencer “Hiko” Martin Canada Joshua “steel” Nissan United States Peter “Asuna” Mazuryk United States Quan “dicey” Tran United States Jonathan “Silenx” Huntington (Stand-in) United States Nicholas “nitr0” Cannella (On leave)

United States Hector “FrosT” Rosario (Coach)
