Something joins Paper Rex
Paper Rex have announced the arrival of Ilya "something" Petrov, the team’s first-ever import transfer from a different region. The Russian player will join his teammates in Seoul, South Korea, before the VCT 2023 Pacific League kicks off.
Paper Rex are easily among the most successful and respected Asian teams in the VALORANT scene. However, the organization bid an early farewell to Sao Paulo after getting swept by Cloud9. The early exit at VCT 2023 LOCK//IN made the organization look for a new blood. The team has been looking to try something new before the league starts. Today, Paper Rex announced their newest member of the VALORANT roster.
“We have been closely monitoring Ilia’s recent performances and are impressed with his exceptional play as a duelist,” Harley Örvall, Chief Gaming Officer of Paper Rex, stated to VALO2ASIA.
From Japan Challengers to the VCT International Leagues
After competing for multiple teams at regional or minor online tournaments, something played for Insomnia, where he first got a chance to show his capabilities on the Japan Challengers stage. He then played for BLUE BEES and finally joined Sengoku Gaming. something spent the majority of last year under the Sengoku banner. He showed very impressive performances and made his name known not only in Japan but all over the world. Today, Paper Rex announced the transfer of something.
The Russian player is known for playing Duelists. His go-to agent is definitely Jett, with 32 picks in the past year. He maintained a 1.41 rating and a 1.52 K/D with the agent. Secondly, something has also been playing Reyna as of late, with 14 picks in the past three months. He is setting at a 1.62 rating, 314.9 ACS, and a jaw-dropping 1.93 K/D. Overall, he holds a 1.39 rating and 1.49 K/D since he started playing professionally.
