stax extends his contract with T1 until 2028
VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Bangkok 2025 winner Kim "stax" Gu-taek extends his contract with T1 until 2028. In total, stax will spend 4 years with the Korean organization, which is rebuilding for 2027. T1 announced the extension on November 5.
stax has been with the organization since June 2024 and now has a deal that runs through 2028. T1 are also confirmed to remain a VCT Pacific partner team for the 2027-2028 cycle.
stax will reportedly be joined on the roster by Tyson "TenZ" Ngo, Austin "crashies" Roberts, and Gustavo "Sacy" Rossi who will replace Byeon "Munchkin" Sang-beom, Kim "Meteor" Tae-O, Kim "KDG" Dong-gun, Kang "DH" Dong-ho and Lee "CheongGak" Il-hoéyu according to a leak from Sheep Esports.
stax’s achievements with T1
stax’ time with T1 peaked in Bangkok. At VALORANT Masters Bangkok 2025, T1 fell behind 1-2 against G2 Esports in the grand final. They fought back to win 3-2 and claim the Masters title.
This year’s VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 - Champions Shanghai told a different story. T1 entered as the fourth seed from Pacific, but still reached the playoffs after a great victory against FUT Esports in the Group Stage. NRG sent them to the lower bracket with a 2-0 win. T1 refused to go quietly and beat Paper Rex 2-1, but they finished the tournament in 5th-6th place after losing to G2 Esports.
His years with the organization have made him a legend of the club, and this extension will cement that status even more in T1’s VALORANT legacy and history.
A potentially insane T1 2027 roster
Rumors about T1’s roster for 2027 have started coming out, and it looks totally mind-blowing. With TenZ and crashies joining the team and Sacy set to join as head coach, T1 is looking to build a roster of stars and iconic players.
With multiple Masters and Champions winners, plus players who spent years on legendary teams such as Sentinels, Fnatic, and LOUD, T1 aren't just rebuilding. They are creating a team that aims to be the best in the world.
