Team Heretics parts ways with Miniboo
Team Heretics has officially parted ways with their Lithuanian Duelist, Dominykas "MiniBoo" Lukasevicius. In a farewell post on X, the organization wished him the best in his future endeavors. With the offseason in full swing, Heretics now finds itself one player short. As one of the top teams in EMEA—having secured the EWC VALORANT - Esports World Cup 2025 trophy earlier this year—whoever steps into Miniboo’s role will have big shoes to fill.
Strong EMEA Team, but a Mellow Individual Performance
Miniboo joined Heretics in October 2023 after showing promise as a Duelist on Case Esports. In his debut year with Heretics, the team quickly rose to become one of EMEA’s powerhouses, placing second in both VCT 2024 - EMEA Kick-off and VCT 2024 - EMEA Stage 1. Their momentum didn’t stop there—they made it all the way to the VCT 2024 - Champions 2024 Grand Final. Winning a Champions title in your first VCT year is every rookie's dream, but that dream fell just short as EDward Gaming took down Heretics in the final.
Since then, things have been rockier for Miniboo. Heretics missed out on VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Bangkok 2025 and had an early exit at VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Toronto 2025. One bright spot was the EWC, where Heretics pulled off a massive comeback in the Grand Final against Fnatic to take the trophy. However, it wasn’t Miniboo’s standout event, as he rarely top-fragged. Instead, Mert "Wo0t" Alkan emerged as one of the tournament’s best players.
VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Valorant Champions followed a similar pattern: Heretics made playoffs, but Miniboo’s performance once again fell short of expectations. As a result, the organization is now on the lookout for a new Duelist to step up for the 2026 season.
Leaving his brother behind
During his time with Heretics, Miniboo played alongside his older brother, Ričardas "Boo" Lukaševičius. Boo had joined the team a year earlier and welcomed Miniboo with open arms. As the in-game leader, Boo played a key role in guiding Miniboo both on and off the stage. Now, for the first time in his career, Miniboo will look to make his own path—without his brother by his side.
The hole Miniboo is leaving behind is a big one, as he was loved by fans and teammates alike. This marks Heretics' first roster change in two years. Whether more changes are coming remains to be seen as the team gears up for the 2026 season.
