Team Liquid announce the departure of trexx
Team Liquid has officially parted ways with Nikita "trexx" Cherednichenko following the team’s disappointing performance at VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Valorant Champions.
The VCT 2025 season was one marked by both momentous highs and painful shortcomings for Team Liquid. Despite qualifying for every single VCT international event, Team Liquid failed to make a lasting impact on the global stage. While they were eventually able to dominate the VCT EMEA league and win their second domestic trophy, the team was unable to replicate that success internationally. Now, the team has continued to make roster changes with the recent departure of trexx ahead of the VCT 2026 season.
What’s next for trexx and Team Liquid?
trexx joined Team Liquid ahead of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - EMEA Stage 2 regular season, where he helped the team win the Grand Final against GIANTX. He had previously been a part of Team Vitality where he also helped the French organization reach the top four at VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Bangkok 2025 earlier in 2025.
He will be looking to take his talents and international experience to a new team as the VCT 2026 season approaches.
As for Team Liquid, they came into VALORANT Champions Paris 2025 as a favorite to win the entire tournament as the first seed from EMEA. Unfortunately, the team faltered in the group stages, losing twice to DRX and finishing the year in 9th-11th place.
The two-time EMEA champions will be looking to build a new lineup going into the VCT 2026 season. So far, the team has officially parted ways with Patryk "paTiTek" Fabrowski, with additional reports indicating Georgio "Keiko" Sanassy might be heading to NRG for the coming season.
With the recent departure of trexx, Team Liquid will be looking to build a team set towards international success and qualify for their fifth VALORANT Champions. It will be interesting to see the new lineup of Team Liquid as they enter the VCT 2026 season.
