THESPIKE.GG’s Masters Toronto Pick'em Guide (Swiss Stage)
Want perfect pick'ems for VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Toronto 2025's Swiss Stage for bragging rights alongside an exclusive gunbuddy and in-game title? The staff here at THESPIKE.GG have combined our expertise to create the most accurate pick'ems for the second Masters event of the year. Here's who we have gone with to get out of the Swiss Stage, and why:
Second try's the charm for Sentinels
Sentinels are primed to make it deep this event. The new additions of Sean "bang" Bezerra and Marshall "N4RRATE" Massey to compensate for the loss of seasoned veterans in Tyson "TenZ" Ngo and Gustavo "Sacy" Rossi made this team look just as solid as last year's title-winning roster on paper, yet they went 0-2 in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Bangkok 2025 Swiss Stage. Despite this, Sentinels seems to have had gained valuable learning experience and have applied that to their season in VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Americas Stage 1, with Zachary "zekken" Patrone seemingly finally finding his footing in the new system.
Sentinels also have the most lopsided opening matchup in Wolves Esports, where their current form vastly outshines the inexperienced Wolves roster. With a strong chance at a 1-0 lead in the Swiss Stage, Sentinels are placed in an advantageous position from the get-go, with their improvements across Stage One taking them over the line in surviving the Swiss Stage.
GEN.G make their return
Gen.G Esports are making to the global stage after looking like one of the best teams last year, and seems to be nearing the same potential following the rapid improvements they have been making across VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Pacific Stage 1. Losing Kim "Meteor" Tae-O, arguably their best player last year was a huge blow to the team, but Jung "Foxy9" Jae-sung has stepped up massively to deliver the same impact rounds and consistent fragging that went missing, ending the season with the fourth highest kill-to-death ratio in the region at 1.25. The proven core of Kim "t3xture" Na-ra, Byeon "Munchkin" Sang-beom, and Kim "Karon" Won-tae alongside Foxy9 keeping his Stage One performance up ensures a strong GEN.G that are easily making it out of Swiss Stage.
The Paper Rex train continues speeding ahead in Toronto
The pistons pump rhythmically while rails sing under the weight of the train that is Paper Rex. The fan-favourite looked defeated after the third week of Stage One after going 0-3, but made a legendary run to Toronto: not losing a single game to make their return to an international tournament in a do-or-die situation throughout. The addition of Patrick "PatMen" Mendoza largely contributed to the rejuvenation of this team. Not only can he play a variety of roles and consistently frag out on them, PatMen as a voice of reason for the team, preventing classic Paper Rex overheating that causes them to throw away advantageous situations. Track-by-track, Paper Rex are going to continue the momentum of this their domestic run into Toronto and make their way out of the Swiss Stage.
Los Niños are back in 2-0 fashion
Team Heretics look like they are back in their dangerous 2024 form, making them our pick to go 2-0 in the Swiss Stage. Heretics are the only team coming into Toronto who have not made any roster shuffles from last year, believing in their long-term vision for the young team. Despite a rough 3-0 defeat to Team Liquid in VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - EMEA Kickoff which meant that they were missing out on their first international ever, the VCT 2024 - Champions 2024 grand finalists have bounced back in VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - EMEA Stage 1 and look to continue their dominance on the international stage. Enes "RieNs" Ecirli continues to make ridiculous clutches while Mert "Wo0t" Alkan continues firing on all cylinders, yet Dominykas "MiniBoo" Lukasevicius's improvement this season is what has elevated the already standout roster. Heretics' form now coupled with their strong international track record ensures a 2-0 exit in the Swiss Stage.
