Twitch Rivals: VALORANT Showdown Summary
With the official launch of the closed beta of VALORANT on April 7th, Twitch Rivals immediately announced two tournaments; one in Europe and one in North America to celebrate the release of the game. Both tournaments were played on a BO1 format; i.e. only 1 map per game.
For each region, eight teams participated divided into two groups, the winner of group A faced the winner of group B to find out who is the great champion.
The groups in Europe consisted of:
Group A
Team ONSCREEN: ONSCREEN, Valkia, Smooya, HenryG, Pansy. Team Gotaga: Gotaga, Mickalow, AzoX360, Kinstaar, Jbzz. Team Winghaven: Winghaven, Blackelespanolito, Thegrefg, ibai, leviathan. Team Jahrein: Jahrein, Wtcn, Thaldrinlol, Videoyun, Mithrain.
Group B
Team LotharHS: LotharHS, Neog5, g5TAZ, Izakooo, Pago3. Team gdolphn: gdolphn, Orb, Forsen, Stormen, Noizeeh. Team Amar: Amar, Kalle, nookyyy, Miss_Rage, TrilluXe. Team Zerator: Zerator, Alphacast, MoMan, Houngoungagne, Wipr.
In Group A, Team Gotaga took first place with three wins and zero losses (with 39 won rounds and 10 lost rounds).
In Group B, Team LotharHS with two wins and one loss (with 36 won rounds and 23 lost rounds) took first place thanks to its three-round difference from Team gdolphn who also scored two wins and one loss (with 30 won rounds and 24 lost rounds).
The grand final between Group A (Team Gotaga) and Group B (Team LotharHS) was won by Team Gotaga (with 13 won rounds and 8 lost rounds).
The two North American groups were:
Group A
Team Summit1g: Summit1g, ShahZaM, sgares, LeXCS, JoshOG. Team TimTheTatman: TimTheTatman, fl0m, Mendo, Aceu, Dizzy. Team Yassuo: Yassuo, xQcOW, m0xyy, ahad, jaomock. Team Hiko: Hiko, Skadoodle, n0thing, Brax, AZKcs.
Group B
Team JakenbakeLIVE: JakenbakeLIVE, a_seagull, emongg, syncdez, its_wiked. Team AnneMunition: AnneMunition, Iridium, Poach, Electra, Rivington. Team Bnans: Bnans, DrLupo, Kephrii, HighDistortion, LuluLuvely. Team MissHarvey: MissHarvey, 72hrs, Lord_Kebun, Pterodactylsftw, FemSteph.
Unfortunately due to the problem related to the stability of the servers, the organizers decided to postpone the games to the next day, but eventually, the whole event got canceled. In the partial results, Team TimTheTatman and Team Hiko were leading in Group A with 2 wins each and zero losses. In Group B there was only one leader, Team JakenbakeLIVE with two wins and zero losses.
